Spartines beach, we find it in the south east part of Alonissos about half a kilometer from the fishing Votsi village. Patitiri we find it three kilometers away.
A large shoreline of gravel mixed with sand, surrounded by lush vegetation, bathed by a crazy sea with clear and crystalline turquoise-emerald waters. The seabed formed by boulders and stones descends quite quickly but is perfect for snorkelers where they can admire the fish fauna and flora and for those who love long swims.
Spartines beach is an oasis of peace as it is very remote and not so easy to reach, in fact even in the high season you can find yourself in four cats on the beach and this is the reason why it is still so wild and in its natural state. The ideal place for a classic escape from the hustle and bustle and enjoy complete isolation. A high cliff of pale stone protects it from the wind and divides it into two parts, a larger area and a smaller one, the latter much loved by naturist.
It goes without saying that the Spartines beach is not equipped at all, here there is only Nature, so if you want to spend the whole day there, don’t forget to bring everything you need starting from something to drink and eat because you can get hold of water and food is impossible unless you decide to go back and forth from the village of Votsi.
The beauty of Spartines is also this, the fact of being so isolated allows you to leave behind every thought and enjoy only what our Mother Earth always manages to give us and no less to amaze us. Tip: stay in the middle of the beach is the sunniest area.
You can only get there in two ways, either by boat or on foot. By sea, it is necessary to rent a private boat, there are no excursions that lead up to here.
On foot, on the other hand, it is a real adventure but the effort will be amply rewarded by the landscape. Let’s start by saying that it takes about ten minutes from the village of Votsi. Go east and follow a dirt path that descends towards the sea through the cool pine forest and in no time you will be there.
On the other hand, those who love longer walks can also reach Spartines beach from Patitiri. Practically as soon as you leave the capital behind you, you can see a building on the left whose name is The Homeopathich Institute of Alonissos an educational institution that deals with classical homeopathy where academic courses are organized annually to train doctors on this type of medicine. After about fifty meters, the road branches off and one leads to Milia beach and Chrisi Milia beach while the other leads to the entrance to a warehouse. Past the depot there is a house from which a steep downhill road starts through the pine forest, ten minutes and you will have arrived at the beach. Said like this it may seem complicated but it is much easier to do than to say.
For sure to put among the things to see in Alonissos the Spartines beach, beautiful, remote and above all quiet where you can remain in total silence and as a side dish have only the sound of the sea.
