Thestupendous and green Skiathos island, in addition to offeringsixty beaches, one more beautiful than the other, delights itsvisitors with stupendous sea caves which, like hidden treasures,intersect between the high cliffs around the island.

Todaywe want to tell you about the Skotini Caves and Galazia. We find themnot far from another pearl of Skiathos, the Lalaria Beach in thenorth west part which can only be reached by sea, one of the mostphotographed and sought after by holidaymakers with its small beachof gray and white pebbles bathed by transparent and of an intenseblue with a scenographic natural rock formation in the shape of anarch that gives that particular and unique touch. Here everything isstill in its original and wild state, no comforts, just the luck ofadmiring such an amazing landscape and enjoying one of the mostbeautiful seas in the world, because yes, the Aegean has its owncharacteristics and colors that only in Greece can be found.

Notfar away, you can discover the two wonderful caves. Skotini Piliacave also called “Red Cave” has the particularity of having avery low and narrow entrance where only one boat at a time can passand enter. It has a depth of about twenty meters and inside you canreally see very little. However, it remains an experience to dobecause it is like finding yourself in a submerged world in a sort ofair bubble where you can breathe normally while everything around isenveloped in semi-darkness. Obviously not recommended for those withclaustrophobia problems, everything is very narrow and above alldark.

Thesecond one is called Galazia Spilia or also "blue cave" andyou will understand the reason immediately by yourself. Larger insize than the Skotini Pilia cave, it is a magical place thanks to theplay of light that is reflected in the sea and on the rocks, dyeingthe waters an iridescent turquoise. The atmosphere inside is magicaland you will feel like you are living in one of those films shot intropical paradises where the colors are brighter than ever and theglare is almost blinding.

Bothare considered miracles of Mother Nature and one of the mostbeautiful places in the Sporades Archipelago. It's easy to understandwhy during the summer you can find lots of moored boats or organizedtrips that bring tourists to this part of the Aegean, sometimesresulting in a little crowded but it's definitely worth it. Here toothe universe has certainly given its best, giving us this astonishingnatural work that seems almost sculpted by skilled divine hands.
