For an excursion not dedicated to the sea and when the heat begins to be almost unbearable, you could think of going to visit Epta Piges a wooded area in the hinterland 4 km from Kolimbia not far from the Tsambika Monastery, among pines and plane trees where seven natural springs join in a single river which, channeled along a very narrow tunnel, flows into a lake formed by a dam in 1931.

A real oasis with paths, wooden bridges and runners, where different species of animals such as peacocks and other birds are in the wild and it will not be difficult to meet someone. The main attraction of the Seven Springs is the underground tunnel that passes underground for about one hundred and eighty meters and then reaches the small lake. It is not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia as it is tight and oxen and once inside it is impossible to go back, in short, only for the brave. The water inside reaches the ankles and the passage must be done in single file. If you don't have such a fearless heart, no problem, you can still reach the pond through a path in the middle of the forest with a nice walk in the shade.

In the innermost part of Epta Piges, a small tavern where you can taste Greek and local specialties after your excursion. A truly unique and magical place that will make the grown-ups regenerate while for the little ones a playground area dedicated to them.

To reach this oasis from Rhodes take direction Lindos up to Kolymbia and then west towards Epta Piges.
