Definitely the most photographer place on the Milos island. Sarakiniko beach (here there are conflicting opinions on the fact of calling it beach but for this time let's classify it like this), is a real peculiarity of Mother Nature as it is formed by long volcanic rocks called kaolin, of a white color blinding shaped by the winds and the sea that make the landscape surreal and typically lunar.
The intense blue sea is even more highlighted by the total white that surrounds it. A succession of hills of white lava that always offers different panoramas where you immortalize your memories in different shots. At night it turns into an almost fairy environment and when there is a full moon and the sky dotted with sparkling stars, it becomes even more beautiful.
In reality, a very small piece of sandy beach exists in Sarakiniko nestled between the rocks, but obviously given the size, only a few people can stay there so those who arrive first are better accommodated. For snorkelers, in addition to the cavities formed with the lava flow towards the west with respect to the beach, there is a wreck of a merchant boat wrecked in past times, half submerged and half out of the sea. Obviously the whole area is not equipped but in the large parking lot above, a small kiosk for a drink and something quick to eat.
Is very simple, there are buses or by sea with boat tours organized by the various agencies on the island. The nicest and most fun way to visit it is definitely with the quad bike through the streets of Milos passing from one landscape to another. Once you reach the parking lot on the cliff with a five minute walk you arrive at the beach. The best time to enjoy Sarkiniko is definitely early in the morning when everyone is still asleep or on a full moon night.
