Pigadia beach is located in the southeast part and is the beach of the capital of the Karpathos island.
It is the longest and widest beach on the whole island and has a coast of gold-colored sand mixed with gravel, bathed by a beautiful blue sea with clear and crystalline waters. The seabed descends gently, therefore very suitable for families with children where the little ones can have fun and the older ones relax in peace.
The beach is super equipped with sun loungers, beach bars and games for all tastes. As for the stomach, do not worry, you will be spoiled for choice among the many classic and restaurant taverns offering fresh fish and local specialties.
Pigadia beach is perfect in almost all respects, except for one detail, its position is not really sheltered from the wind and on days when Eolo is particularly fit it can be a little uncomfortable.
A walk on the promenade is an excellent alternative to sunbathing and if you want total relaxation and only hear the sound of the waves, you should move to the free part of the beach. In the surrounding area you can also visit the beaches of Ammos Xenonas and Vrontis on foot.
Is simple, if you are staying in the capital on foot it is the best way, while from other areas of the island with your own vehicle follow the main asphalted road towards Pigadia.
Maybe Pigadia beach is a bit messed up in the high season, but take a stroll, so you can also see the town that is very pretty with its small historic center and maybe stop for dinner in one of the seaside taverns.
To be included in the list of things to do in Karpathos.
