Kalo Livadi beach is located about ten kilometers from the capital Mykonos Town in the south of the island next to Elia beach and two kilometers from the Ano Mera village.
Kalo Livadi in Greek means "the good lawn" and the reason for this name is given by the fact that until a few years ago the valley that houses the beach considered one of the most beautiful in Mykonos, was full of huge reeds that made it seem a green lawn. To date, part of the reed bed is still present on the mountainous area, giving this patch of color in a mainly barren and wild context.
The six hundred meters long coastline with a spectacular rocky wall to the west, is made up of very fine light sand that reaches the turquoise sea with clear and transparent waters. The seabed drops very, very slowly, so much so that before you can swim you have to go a little way, making it one of the most suitable places for families with children where the little ones can have fun in absolute safety.
Despite its extreme beauty, the Kalo Livadi beach is not well known and therefore never overcrowded (apart from the peak season when the island fills up), thus giving moments of relaxation and to enjoy a total beach day. One part of the beach is completely free surrounded by wild nature, the other part is super equipped with three beautiful restaurants that offer sunbeds, umbrellas, a service directly under the parasol for something cool to drink or to take something to eat. For those who love taking their time for the meal, delicious and fresh fish dishes or Greek specialties. The Kalo Livadi beach also offers a choice of water sports to have fun with family or friends. To the west of the beach, going up a steep road you arrive in an enchanting panoramic area, not to be missed for a nice souvenir photo. At the foot of Kalo Livadi beach there is a large parking lot where you can leave your vehicle.
Worth noting is the Lohan Beach Club https://lohanmykonos.com/lohan-beach/ a multifaceted club that offers sophisticated cocktails prepared by expert mixologists in its beach, Mediterranean cuisine with a metropolitan note and high-volume live music much loved by young people and the Solymar Beach Club https://solymarmykonos.com/beach/ a truly exclusive place for its services and its price.
For the more fortunate ones who have their own boat they can reach the beach through two floating piers. For those who do not have their own vehicle, a bus line from Mykons town in the Fabrika old port area leads to the beach (I recommend you inform the driver of your destination because sometimes they don't stop). If you are mechanized or by car or scooter, follow the road to Ano Mera and the indications for Kalo Livadi.
