Finiki beach is located in the south west part of the Karpathos island in the picturesque Finiki village from which it takes its name. A short distance away we also find the Arkasa vilage a small center with a historical importance dating back to the Minoan era, where on the top there are the remains of the walls of the Arksia Acropolis, which was once the capital of the island and together with Finiki the main port for the Dodecanese routes.
Adjacent to the small harbor, we find this small beach with soft golden sand embedded in an inlet protected from the wind and bathed by a crystalline sea with an intense blue color.
Given its small size, it is equipped with a few umbrellas and sunbeds and behind it a few taverns that serve perhaps the freshest fish on the island, a mini market for DIY lovers and some cafés where to stop and maybe make friends with the locals. The small village that remained still decades ago when Greece was still wild and free-range, has just a few houses and a small church. The atmosphere here is truly unique, tranquility and relaxation are the only things you will find.
The fortunate position due to the lack of wind makes it ideal for families with children and for people who love peace.
Is very simple, from any direction, to take the main road of the island following the indications to reach the locality of Finiki.
Finiki beach is to be included in your program of things to visit on the Karpathos island, not slo for the beach, but for a dinner by the sea at sunset which in this area are a real spectacle of Nature.
