The ancient Edipsos town is located in the southwest part of beautiful Evia at thevery beginning of the island. The capital Chalkida, on the otherhand, is much further south, almost two hours by car.
A village that hasexisted since time immemorial, you think it dates back to more than20,000 years ago, considered a gift from the Gods where illustriouscharacters such as the emperors Hadrian, Marcus Aurelius andConstantine the Great have passed to benefit from its miraculouswaters. In 1997 theEdipsos municipality merged with the Loutra Edipsos municipality, Agios and Gialtra thus giving life to this miraculous areawhere in the past also personalities of the Greek and internationaljet set starting from Aristotle Onassis, Greta Garbo and Omar Sharifjust for give you an example, they used to retire for a healingperiod.

The top however is the spa center of theThermae Sylla Spa & Wellnes Hotel dating back to 1896, one of theoldest in the country and considered one of the ten best wellnesscenters in the world where a spring flows inside that reaches atemperature of 75- 80 degrees of mineral water and rich intherapeutic radon.
The town is very pleasant, itoffers a promenade where you can take a walk in an atmosphere thatalmost seems to have stopped in the last century thanks to itshistoric buildings. There is no shortage of luxury and cheaperhotels, trendy restaurants, typical taverns, small bars and shops, inshort, everything that is needed for a comfortable and relaxingholiday. You don’t come to Edispos just for the spas, you can enjoyinteresting scuba diving, mountain biking to discover the hinterland, horse riding, hiking and its beaches such as Paidikou Stathmou beach,Monopetra beach, the three Moloi or the Thermai Sylla beach with its cave. From an archaeological point of view, a trip to the thermalbaths dating back to the Roman period becomes a must, to the Koumpihill a couple of kilometers from Loutra, one of the most importantsites dating back to the Neolithic period where ancient ceramics havebeen found. About three kilometers fromEdipsos is the fishing Agios Nikolaos village where you can enjoya refreshing swim on its sandy beach, play sports like a good game ofbeach volleyball and then end up in one of the typical taverns whereyou can taste excellent fish fresh.
