Ios a small pearl of the Cyclades Islands much appreciated by young people for its lively nightlife with a sophisticated touch and also by sportsmen who love the wind because Ios is basically one of the windiest islands of the Aegean in some of its parts that attracts people Worldwide.

It is very popular with Australians and Northern Europeans because it manages to combine fun, sport and unspoiled nature.

We find it in the north-eastern part of the island of Ios about ten kilometers from the picturesque capital Chora. A beach over half a kilometer long, with a coastline of coarse sand, clean, transparent and always very calm waters thanks to its position and the surrounding mountains full of Mediterranean vegetation that create this beautiful horseshoe-shaped bay. The sea that looks like a natural swimming pool has colors that go from blue to turquoise to emerald to sparkling blue with a backdrop rich in marine flora and fauna where snorkelers can get lost for hours.

It is partly equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas (on average two deckchairs and a parasol cost about € 6), some traditional taverns where you can taste Greek and local cuisine at excellent prices with a view to be envied by anyone. There are also some structures but the rule is always that those who arrive first stay better since there are not many.

For those who prefer to spend a day at sea in the wild, part of the beach is completely free so you can put yourself where you will feel most inspired and take advantage of the natural shade of the trees on the bottom during the hottest hours, perhaps for a well-deserved nap.

The Agia Theodoti Beach which in Greek literally means Beach of God, is one of the most ‘beautiful and quietest’. If you decide for a holiday in Ios and you want to spend long idle hours without loud music but only with the sound of the sea and cicadas, this is the right place!

Added value a sunset to be immortalized in the perfect photo with its warm colors ranging from orange to red to intense fuchsia a real pleasure for sight and soul. From the beach of Agia Theodoti it is also possible to see the Iraklia Island and  Amorgos Island clearly when the sky is particularly clear. Nearby you can also go to visit Psathi Beach and Manganari Beach. In short, you won’t have time to get bored!

It is much loved by lovers of naturism who usually retire to the furthest part from the parking lot so as not to disturb and live a day at sea in complete harmony.

For a different moment, you could reach the Byzantine church of San Teodoti dating back to the 16th century, the oldest in all of Ios, on the side of the hill, the ruins of a Hellenistic tower and the remains of a Venetian fortress.

Simple, take the road to Epano Kambos from the Chora windmills and follow the road signs to Agia Theodoti. A convenient parking area where you can leave your vehicles is available on the beach.

If you are not autonomous, from the Chora there are daily bus trips but as always consult the timetables to organize yourself in the best possible way. For those who love walking, a pleasant walk of about nine / ten kilometers is always from the capital.

A combination of mountains, plains and sea, a rich and varied underwater world, a quiet and peaceful beach, this is what you will find in Agia Theodoti, and for this alone it deserves to be marked among the things to see in Ios.
