It is said that one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world is precisely that of Santorini. Indeed it is really a special show because it is in a particular naturalistic context and could not be otherwise.

You can see it from various angles of the island, you can choose to admire it with a boat ride directly inside the Caldera, to Oia from the ruin of the Venetian castle where usually when the sun disappears the general applause starts and then off for the lanes in search of a tavern with a view of the sea, or from Firostefani or Imerovigli where you will have the whole Caldera in front of which, illuminated by the sun’s rays, transforms the spur of Skaros into a dark shadow as if by magic.

Or even from the capital Thira which is painted in shades of red perhaps from the part of the Orthodox cathedral, or better yet if you want to stay quieter going down to Kato Thira, or even from Pyrgos from the castle or from the wineries in the area maybe sitting with a good glass of native wine or from Akrotiri near the lighthouse.

In short, you can experience the sunset of Santorini as you wish from where you prefer but one thing will always be the same, the spectacle that Nature offers in this romantic and atypical island.
