The beautifu Rovinia beach can be found in the Liapades village about twenty kilometers from the capital Corfu' Town in the north west of the island.
Considered one of the most beautiful in Corfu', it has a coastline of coarse sand mixed with smooth pebbles, clean and clear waters, an emerald and blue sea with seabeds that descend very quickly so if you are in the children company, pay close attention. The surrounding landscape of rocks, lush vegetation and mysterious caves give Rovinia beach an atmosphere almost like an Earthly Paradise.
The nature here is still wild and original and the views it offers make the place a real magnet both for locals who love to meet up at the weekend and also for travelers looking for something extraordinary.
So much beauty is preserved as the Rovinia beach has a less than comfortable position and as a result many are discouraged even if we must say that in recent years it has become a very popular destination and during the summer period it is sometimes even a little too full, so if you want to enjoy it to the fullest it would be best to go early in the morning.
Obviously it is not equipped, here you will not find sunbeds, umbrellas or taverns, everything is uncontaminated and therefore you will have to spread out your towel where you feel most inspired and do nothing but enjoy this little miracle of Mother Nature. So remember to bring everything you need if you want to dedicate a whole day to it, even if a boat arrives every day offering drinks, ice cream and something quick to eat.
Rovinia beach is much loved for snorkelling as its cave and particular seabed are home to lively marine flora and fauna, so pack fins, snorkel and mask in your backpack. Furthermore, the road that leads to the beach branches off into numerous paths perfect for those who love trekking and walking, all in the middle of a virgin territory with a thousand surprises.
An additional point is the wonderful view you have towards the Paleokastritsa green hills, another point not to be missed in Corfu' that you can combine with your day for a swim or to try the delicious food of its taverns overlooking the bay, crossing an area rich inolive trees and sandy beaches with an extraordinary sea of changing colours. And again from the road that leads to the beach of Rovinia, you can also reach the Glyko beach, rough and wild but with a fairytale sea, or the Limni beach, a well hidden oasis where on one side the water takes on green shades recallinga lake (Limni in Greek in fact means lake).
So it certainly takes a bit of effort but it's all doable and with little difficulty. First of all you need to reach the Liapades village where on the left you will find a narrow uphill road. Follow it until you reach a crossroads where you will have to turn right and follow the sign. The road is dirt and slightly sloping so be very careful. You will then reach a small car park where you will be forced to leave your vehicle. It's paid, remember that.
From here you continue on foot for about ten fifteen minutes through some stairs dug into the ground and you will finally have arrived.
For the lazy ones, it is also possible by sea, from the Alipa port or from Paleokastritsa, you can rent a boat and enjoy all the beautiful beaches that the bay offers.
Absolutely worth marking on your list of things to see in Corfu'
