Platis Gialos, is located in the south-east part of the Mykonos island in a small inlet surrounded by olive and juniper trees, between the beaches of Agia Anna and Psarou. Nearby you can also reach Paraga and Paradise Beaches with a walk.
Of fine and almost white sand, it has a fairly small coastline, but the emerald turquoise color of the sea, clear and crystalline will make you forget the size and the crowds (and yes it is one of the most popular and during the summer it stormed by tourists).
It is a very equipped beach (even too much according to our tastes) with sunbeds, umbrellas, and behind it a huge choice of typical taverns, restaurants, bars and cafes. A part of the beach is free so you can choose where to settle for your day at the beach. A large number of services for sports lovers such as jet skiing and water skiing are present on the coast. From Platis Gialos boats or water taxis leave which will allow you to visit other beautiful beaches on the island.
In the northern part there are towers dating back to the Hellenic Roman era, an excellent alternative for a walk on the dry beach of the coast.
Is very easy, it is only four kilometers from Mykonos Town from where local buses leave every half hour. Our advice is to go there for a half day or a full day, it is true it is full but it is also very beautiful and pleasant for a swim or just to laze under the warm Mykonos sun.
The village behind it offers everything more so you can stay on the beach until late, perhaps waiting for the sunset and end the day with a delicious dinner in one of the taverns or restaurants located on the seafront.
A stop to be included in your travel program if you choose the Mykonos island for your holidays in Greece.
