Here is a rare pearl of Skopelos Island, Perivoloiu beach. A secret casket hidden and difficult to reach but which will repay the effort by catapulting you into a scenario of wild and primitive nature.

We find it in the northeastern part of the island, the wildest of all where Mother Nature has expertly given landscapes to leave you speechless and where you can experience moments that you will hardly forget.

Perivoliou beach has a coastline of coarse-grained sand mixed with small stones, crystal clear and extremely transparent waters, a turquoise sea that becomes sparkling blue towards the open sea with a depth that drops quite quickly so if you are with children (even if we advise against it due to the road to take in order to reach the beach), be very careful. The fact of being covered by stones and many sea urchins especially near the rocks, we invite you to bring your own sea shoes.

Wedged in a splendid cove between high cliffs, at its center is a large boulder that divides it naturally where you can often find naturism lovers who will be able to freely express their concept of life here with the right amount of privacy.

The only unfavorable drawback of Perivoliou beach is that given its position it can be exposed to north winds so if during your holiday in Skopelos you decide to embark on this adventure, consult the weather conditions first so as not to make a useless trip as it is also quite distant and would waste your precious time.

You will find yourself in the middle of nowhere in Perivoliou even if in recent years it is starting to become known and especially during the high season many more visitors go up to here but it still remains one of the most beautiful and least traveled places in all of Skopelos.

It is equipped with a few sunbeds and umbrellas, for the rest everything is free so you can choose the corner you like, spread out your beach towel and spend a wonderful day at the beach. As far as catering is concerned, whoever manages the deck chairs has something to drink while you will have to provide for yourself to eat. Snorkelers will have the opportunity to see beautiful fish around the rocks so don’t forget to bring your fins, snorkel and mask.

If you like to discover new places, from the parking lot where you leave your vehicle, if you take the path on the right, you can reach Aggeletou beach, which is also beautiful but with very few people and it is also completely wild. And still from the paved road that descends towards the parking lot at the crossroads taking the opposite direction of Perivoliou after about a kilometer of dirt road that descends towards the sea, you will find a small space where you can park and then continue on foot for a few hundred meters and you will arrive in the small bay that houses the unknown Pethaumenis beach a small corner of paradise made of pebbles and an amazing sea, all in total nothingness what more could you ask for?

Perivoliou beach also offers fantastic sunsets with a view of the open sea which takes on almost surreal colors when the sun goes down.

So, quite difficult but doable. Not recommended for those with motor problems or very young children.

First of all it is necessary to have your own transport, there are no buses or public services that reach here. Keeping the village of Glossa as a reference point, therefore wherever you have decided to stay in Skopelos during your holiday in Greece, follow the signs towards the village. Just before reaching Glossa, there is a crossroads where you have to turn right going up a hill and continue straight ahead until you find signs indicating Perivoliou from a somewhat narrow road so be careful especially if you are driving. You will arrive at a parking lot from which you can admire a fantastic panorama and where you can take a memorable souvenir photo.

From here starts a steep and disconnected staircase carved into the rock so be very careful and above all it would be better to do it with suitable shoes and not flip flops as it is slippery and crumbly and after this last test of courage you will finally reach your destination.

A simpler and less demanding method is by sea, the choice is yours!

In conclusion we can say that Perivoliou beach is one of the destinations to be included among the things to see in Skopelos, one of the most poetic and romantic places on the island all seasoned with a shocking nature in its primitive state, it would be a real shame to miss it .
