The beautiful Monastiri Beach is found in the north-eastern part of the Paros Island. The lively town of Naoussa is approximately five miles south.
It lies on the small peninsula in the great Naoussa Goulf in the Agios Ioannis bay, rocky and surrounded by huge boulders that make the landscape very special. Just two kilometers away is another coast worthy of a visit, the Kolymbithres beach, famous for its conformation, so much so that it looks like a work of art by some particularly imaginative artist.
Its position we can say is quite isolated but it is absolutely not an obstacle to dedicate at least a day to it. A beach two hundred meters long but almost a hundred meters wide, of soft sand, clean and transparent waters, a sea that changes from blue to emerald and a seabed that goes down very smoothly, so much so that at about thirty meters from the shore the level will be only at yours. calf, a sort of natural pool with an almost exotic flavor.
The slow descent of the sea, the high rock formations that like a tender embrace protect it from the winds, the tall trees and mountains that look like real architectural masterpieces, make the Monastiri beach the perfect place for families with children where the little ones can have fun until they drop in total safety while adults can relax with a colorful cocktail in hand. Even lovers of water sports will have the opportunity to practice water skiing, rent a pedal boat or snorkel among the rocks, discovering and admiring the fish fauna and flora.
It is super equipped, with sunbeds, umbrellas and a very famous large beach bar that serves fresh drinks, something quick to eat or at the restaurant with classic Greek and local cuisine. Being very popular the Monastiri beach, in the summer months it is highly sought after by people who have decided on a holiday in Paros, but given its size it is difficult to hear one on top of the other, there is space for everyone!
It should be remembered that the Monastiri beach is located right in the Natural Park of the island which offers interesting excursions through the territory. It owes its name to the Monastery of Agios Ioannis Detis which dominates the bay above a rock.
A favorite destination for boats as well, so much so that you can see many of them moored in the natural harbor. Just fifty meters from the beach, there is the ancient Greek amphitheater that you should not miss for the feeling of being magically catapulted into the past. On the left, however, some marked trails start leading to the lighthouse for a pleasant walk in the midst of nature and to the Monastery.
Nothing could be easier, go to the north east of the Paros Island by the comfortable asphalted road from Naoussa and follow the road signs.
An excellent alternative is by sea, always starting from Naoussa with water taxis that will take you directly to the shore.
A beach to be included among the things to see in Paros, for a moment of relaxation without giving up anything, from comforts to a fantastic natural setting.
