Lagada Beach Kos

And here we are at another of our top five beaches in Kos, where as soon as we can even just for a couple of hours we go to relax, we are talking about Lagada or Legades beach as it is also called.

It too is located in the southern part of Kos in the area of Kefalos, the “head” of the island about forty kilometers from the capital Kos Town. A small quiet paradise where silence reigns (in high season a little less given the rudeness of some people but here we can only raise our hands and hope to get the right day) and the only noise is that of the waves that gently break on the foreshore.

A small pearl in our opinion of soft light sand bathed by an iridescent and almost always flat turquoise sea, with a seabed that descends slowly at the beginning but with some pebbles so if you have delicate feet it is better to have rock shoes, perfect therefore for families with children and for those who like to swim. It is equipped with a few sunbeds and umbrellas, not many, therefore, who first arrives better accommodation at a cost of about € 10 per day. Just above the scenic staircase made in the small promontory of white and blue pallets, a kiosk in Greek called Kantina where Antonis and Rena a very nice couple, prepares tasty burgers, fresh fruit salads and many other delicious things to eat for the peckish moment as well as cool drinks and the legendary ouzo as a digestive. From Kantina you have a view of the beautiful bay, it is a real pleasure to sit at a table and get lost in the magical blue of the Aegean.

Nearby if you are in the mood for a full meal, there are some delicious taverns to then arrive about six kilometers south to Kefalos village where you will be spoiled for choice on where to eat. We advise you to go right up to the village and try Niotis, a nice lady who proposes a menu that she usually prepares for her family, so you will find what she decided to cook in the morning. Everything is based on very fresh products, vegetables and animals grown and raised by them, a simple but very typical cuisine of Kos.

Lagada beach is wild in the midst of unspoiled nature, here everything is still in its natural state and we hope that visitors will respect this little Eden for a long time to come. On the road that leads to the village of Kefalos, there are many beaches where you can decide to spend the day one more beautiful than the other with a common denominator, a fabulous sea!

Do not miss the sunset at Lagada beach, stay until the sun decides to go to rest, the colors and the atmosphere that are created are one of the most beautiful things to live on a Greek island and in particular in mine beloved Kos.

How to get to Lagada Beach

As with all the coasts of the southern area and believe me I challenge you to see them all unless you are one of the lucky ones to be able to afford to stay for more than a week, you have to follow the main road from anywhere on the island you have your accommodation. and unique, up to Kefalos the northernmost tip of the island. At a certain point you will find a sign on the right indicating Lagada Beach, follow it and after about a kilometer downhill with a couple of bends, you will have arrived. It would be preferable to have your own vehicle to reach it so as to be completely autonomous and enjoy the various moments of the day, however for those who decide not to rent a car or a motorcycle, there is a local bus line that goes as far as Kefalos and request you can also ask to stop at the beginning of the road that then leads to the beach. On the right instead the indications for Vulcania Beach but that’s another story.

If you can put it on your list of things to do in Kos, it will be a very pleasant day of relaxation all surrounded by a stunning sea.
