Korasida beach considered together with Kalamos beach more south of about five kilometers (but we will talk about it in another dedicated article) among the most beautiful in Greece, we find it in the south-eastern part of the Evia Island not far from the homonymous village.
A coastline with an exotic flavor with a coastline almost a kilometer long and narrow, surrounded on the sides by rolling hills covered with rich vegetation and trees, a beach of small white pebbles that look like bonbons and for this reason also known as the “sugar beach ”, bathed by waters of intense turquoise color and incredible clarity, this is the beach of Korasida a painting painted by mother nature a perfect combination of sea and mountains. The sandy bottom drops gently and also for this reason it is much loved by families with children as well as its extraordinary beauty.
It is not equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, here you are really free so much so that camping lovers come in large numbers for a holiday in Evia in close contact with this part of the still wild and intact territory. For something refreshing to drink or to eat something, there is a small tavern that serves dishes based on the freshest products and ancient recipes of traditional Greek and local cuisine.
A small hill divides the coast of Korasida beach giving life to two other small Trachilos bay and the Agios Ioannis bay also fairytale with primitive vegetation and transparent waters and soft white sand that make the place an enchantment.
The small village that is the seaport of Achalderi offers various accommodation options, from simple rooms for rent to small hotels with some comforts such as typical taverns, cafes and mini markets. In short, for a quiet holiday in Greece where you can enjoy a wonderful landscape made up of idyllic beaches and a breathtaking sea.
If you are in the area, do not miss about thirty kilometers north of Korasida, the thermal spring of Choneftiko which in Greek means “digestive”. A place with natural springs of mineral water which is believed to have healing powers for stomach and kidney diseases. Once here there was a factory that bottled the miraculous water but unfortunately nowadays it has been closed. The fountain is surrounded by tall trees while around it there are paved stairs, other stone fountains and comfortable wooden benches where you can rest in the shade of the foliage. A heavenly place where relaxation and tranquility are the masters. A large car park where you can leave your vehicle, and a small church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, protector of the area. The best time to visit Choneftiko is definitely spring when the stream is full of water, the trees are in bloom and a magnificent atmosphere is created.
Keeping Halkida the capital as a reference point, take the road towards southern Evia and after about fifty kilometers you will arrive at the village of Neochori. From here turn right towards Kamalos Achladeri and after a couple of kilometers turn left following the sign for Korasida beach which is exactly nine kilometers later.
An unmissable destination during your holiday in Evia and therefore absolutely to be included in the list of things to see on this incredible and changing island.
