SUMMER PROGRAM JULY AND AUGUST
1st day
From Diafani to Papa Minas Beach. Departure 9.00-9.30 return scheduled when you prefer. An hour's walk to Papa Minas beach in the north east of the island of Karpathos. The beach is not equipped so bring everything you need. It is of sand mixed with small pebbles with trees to shelter from the sun. Return on foot.
2nd day
From Diafani to Vananda beach. Departure 9.00-9.30 return scheduled when you prefer. An hour's walk to the Vananda beach in the north east of the island of Karpathos. The beach is not equipped so bring everything you need. It is of sand mixed with small pebbles with trees to shelter from the sun. Return on foot.
3rd day
From Diafani to Vrukounta beach. Departure 9.00-9.30 return scheduled when you prefer. By car you will be accompanied to the Avlona village in the northwest part of the Karpathos island and with a walk of about an hour and twenty minutes you will reach Vrukounta beach. The beach is not equipped so bring everything you need. It is of sand mixed with small pebbles with trees to shelter from the sun. On the way back reach the Avlona village, call the transfer that comes to pick you up by car to take you back to Diafani.
4th day
Boat trip to the island of Sharia. Departure at 10.00 am from the port of Diafani, return at 6.30 pm. With a boat you reach the beautiful Sharia island which was part of Karpathos until it was separated by natural erosion. In ancient times Sharia was one of the four cities of Karpathos. Everywhere historical traces with ancient monuments, ruins and settlements from the Neolithic age from the early Bronze Age. Sharia was also a base for Saracen pirates. According to mythology the island was created by the god Poseidon in a battle with the Titan Efialte who cut a piece from the side of Karpathos to bury it and destroy it. The boat will stop in an area where there are caves to take a bath or take pictures. You can always reach the beach of Palatia by boat which is not equipped. For those who want a walk of about 30 minutes you can reach the church of Agios Zakarias where the view is wonderful. Leaving Palati we head towards the beach of Alimounda where you can swim and relax.The cost of the excursion is € 20 per person. If you want lunch the cost is € 10 per person and includes meat, or fish or chicken, salad and bread. Drinks are not included.
5th day
Visit to the Olympus village. Departure at 9.00-9.30 return scheduled when you prefer. By car you will be accompanied to Olimpo a beautiful village in the northern part of Karpathos which passes through traditional villages, lush forests and verdant cliffs to reach it. The village populated by around 400 inhabitants who still dedicate themselves to agriculture has a lifestyle where primitive customs still play a very important role. You can visit the ancient village and if you want to stop for lunch in one of the typical taverns in the area. For the return you will have two possibilities, or to return on foot with a walk of about an hour and thirty minutes, or by car calling the transfer that will pick you up to take you back to Diafani.
6th day
From Diafani to Forocli beach. Departure at 9.30 am expected return when you prefer.By car you will be accompanied out of the Olimpo village (from Diafani it is about 10 minutes by car) and through a path with a walk of about an hour and twenty minutes you will arrive at Forocli beach. The beach is not equipped so bring everything you need. At 16.30/17.00, a boat will arrive to pick you up to take you back to Diafani. The cost of the boat transfer is € 10 per person. For the more adventurous, you can walk back to where you were left in the morning, call the transfer that will pick you up by car to take you back to Diafani.
7th day
Boat trip to three different beaches. Departure at 10.00 am from the port of Diafani, expected return at 6.00 pm.From here a beautiful day around three beautiful beaches on the island of Karpatos. We will visit the beaches of Agios Minas, Kapi and Opsi. In Agios Minas the beach is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and a couple of taverns where you can taste the island's gastronomic specialties.The cost of the excursion is € 10 per person. If you want lunch the cost is € 10 per person and includes meat, or fish or chicken, salad and bread. Drinks are not included.
