Going south on the coast, ata distance of about eight kilometers the Votzalakia beach KamposMarathokampos. A reduced pebble coast and in this regard if you havedelicate feet we recommend the use of rock shoes hidden among therocks, clear and limpid waters, a sea with a thousand colors ofturquoise with a seabed that descends slowly but only for the firstmeters (after all like almost all the beaches of Samos) so if you area family with children, pay extra attention. Kaladakia beach isequipped with paid sunbeds and umbrellas (cost more or less €8 perday), a typical tavern where you can taste the classic dishes ofGreek and local cuisine and a bar where you can find something coolto drink during the hot days.
It is perfect for snorkelling or diving lovers as the rock formations on the sides which amongother things give it a good shelter when the Meltemi (cool northwind) blows over the Greek Islands, are very interesting to explore,so remember to put fins, snorkel, mask and maybe a small underwatercamera in your backpack to immortalize the inhabitants of the abyss.
Another attraction ofKaladakia beach are the stupendous caves that Mother Nature as askilled sculptor has been able to create on the left end of the coastwhere the water as well as being transparent and crystalline takes ona blue-green color changing the shade according to the light.
Here you can have funexploring it and enjoy an exciting swim going from a low passage tothe sea. Given its small size, it is better to go to Kaladakia beachearly in the morning, like before 10.00 if you want the comfort of asunbed as it fills up very quickly especially in the summer when allvisitors want to spend at least one day here.
First of all you need to beindependent, given the size and the many things to visit on Samos, acar would be better. Keeping Karlovasi as a reference point, thedirection to take is southwest via the main road following the signsfor Marathokampos and Koumeika.
