Ellinika beach and Dekas beach are located in the south east part of the beautiful Kimolos Island. In this stretch of coast in the bay, there are three coasts that follow one another, including Mavrospilia beach.

Let's start with Ellinika beach, the one in the center of the gulf, just to give you an idea of the position. A narrow beach of soft golden sand with some pebbles, clear and blue sea with a bottom that drops quite quickly. Behind sinuous rock formations and tamarisk trees perfect for a little natural shade in the hot moments of the day. Wild and uncontaminated, it has no kind of comfort, even here as in many beaches of Kimolos the common factor is an intact nature. Much loved by those who want a day in complete relaxation and a favorite destination for naturists where they can truly merge with creation. If you want to spend the whole day here you need to equip yourself with everything from water to something to eat and to shelter from the sun.

At the end of the coast there are the ruins of the ancient city and the acropolis of Ellinika which sank into the sea with the violent earthquake that separated Kimolos island from Milos island. From the archaeological excavations, remains dating back to the 8th century and finds of tombs from the Mycenaean era have come to light. A particular rock formation called Aspragemma is the most beautiful place to admire a wonderful sunset.

Moving south from Ellinika beach, we find Dekas beach very similar to its sister just before, with golden sand mixed with pebbles towards the shore, a clean sea with some Mediterranean scrub shrubs behind it. Isolated, quiet for a day of pure relaxation. Being so remote there are no services so as always remember to bring you a drink, something to eat and something to shelter you from the sun.

Fortunately, here we do not have heart-stopping overhangs or particular difficulties, a common asphalted road which, following the signs, will lead you to your destination.

As always for walkers, it can be reached on foot with a walk from the port of Psathi in about an hour, always passing through the hinterland of the island and delighting in the internal beauty of the island.

For those who do not have a car or scooter for hire, there is a public bus service that leaving from Chorio and Psathi will leave you about twenty minutes away on foot to get to the beaches.
