Founded in 1834, the Archaeological Museum of Syros is considered one of the oldest museums in Greece.

Inside the Town Hall of Hermoupoli, it has four rooms that contain prehistoric finds from the fortified settlement of Kastri from the early Bronze Age, relics from the ancient  Syros city  and other Cicaldi sites, the Amfikypellon a tall two handled cup about 15 cm dated end of the third millennium BC, a Cycladic marble statue depicting a female figure from the second half of the third millennium BC, headless Torso of Poseidon from the ancient city of Syros and an Egyptian statuette of the priest Anchapis, made of granite black dating back to the 22nd dynasty 730 BC.

A real source of culture where you can get carried away by time and admire unique pieces.

The fact that it is right inside the Town Hall, can be a great opportunity to visit both and spend half a day on these wonders that the Greek islands always manage to give us.
