The scenic Alogomandra Beach, we find it in the north east of Milos Island on the road that leads to the picturesque Pollonia village near the coastal village of Agios Konstantinos.
In reality, if we really want to be picky, the coast would be only one but Mother Nature has put her hand in it and has divided the Agios Konstantinos Beach from the Alogomandra Beach with a large cliff.
Let’s start with the protagonist of this article. A small strip of fine gold-colored sand in a tiny inlet where a maximum of ten people can stay there, and this already makes it even more attractive, a turquoise sea with basically crystalline waters with shallow waters but for a few meters from the shore. Let’s specify one thing that is fundamental, the Alogomandra beach given its position can be exposed to the north winds that when they blow shake the waters creating waves and at the end of the oddities of Aeolus, the beach can be full of algae so not really pleasant for a day at the beach, but there is a remedy for everything, first of all check when you decide to pass the weather conditions and how the locals teach us, in the case of a windy day, wait for the day after still peace and you will find the perfect beach! It should be emphasized that the beach of Alogomandra being surrounded by high cliffs is not visible from the road so privacy is assured.
The conformation of the cliffs has given rise to small sea caves on the right side to be explored but also in this case always be very careful.
Obviously it is not equipped, here everything is in its original state, so remember to bring everything you need to drink and eat in case you decide to stay for a long time.
The largest part of the bay instead hosts the Agios Konstantinos beach. A beach of light sand with clean and clear waters, always if the Meltemi did not blow the day before, a sea that goes from blue to turquoise and the seabed that descends slowly, perfect for families with children or for those who love to go long swim.
Also completely wild and without services, you can decide where to put your towel and all the equipment to spend a pleasant day at the beach.
The beach of Alogomandra is separated from its smaller sister by huge and sumptuous rocks that almost act as a natural enclosure.
The homonymous village actually develops into a small fishing port that some houses and the particular “scafati” put back for the boats dug into the stone. A beautiful and ancient underground chapel near the sea, one of a kind also built in the rock in all its parts as the bench where you can sit in prayer.
Head north east on the road that leads to the Pollonia villagge and follow the road signs that at some point will direct you to Agios Konstatinos.
It is necessary to be completely independent because there are no public posts coming directly here.
Even just for a peek it is worth it to go to this side of the island, perhaps combining a view of Pollonia. Don’t forget to highlight it as a great off-course between things to see in Milos.
