The enchanting Agios Dimitrios beach, we find it in the southwestern part of the Evia Island near more or less the homonymous village precisely about eight kilometers away.

Also called Schinodavlia beach, it has a small coastline of coarse sand mixed with large pebbles, clean and crystalline waters, a bright turquoise sea and a seabed that descends strongly immediately therefore not really suitable for families with children. A last corner of paradise where Mother Nature is still present in its original state and offers a remote environment with an almost prehistoric taste.

Here nothing reigns supreme, no sunbeds, umbrellas, comforts of any kind, only an authentic and wonderful landscape. Agios Dimitrios beach is very popular with campers who manage to get here through a dirt road for a couple of kilometers, full of slopes and not exactly easy. It will not be difficult to find even some campers who have decided to spend a few days on this splendid coast with only the sound of the sea and the light of the stars, a place to forget about routine and merge as a single nucleus with nature.

The whole area is very particular and also includes the Dimosari Gorge where Mount Ochi is located which has its peak at 1386 meters and then descends to the sea to the beach of Agios Dimitrios and the Kallianos Beach. A succession of steep paths, an amusement park for trekking lovers who must however be experts because certain points are quite dangerous and if you are not used to walking in the mountains it can be really difficult, with a very rich flora and fauna. and a dense forest.

Also not to be missed is the Lenosei village in the middle of the Dimosari gorge. Above the town, steep paths surrounded by native plants and flowers, while below it is almost a valley where a river flows parallel to it. From here you get to the sea and precisely to the beach of Kallianos among ancient rocks where according to the stories there were metal mines. A scenic canyon that makes you understand how beautiful the island of Evia is and how long it has been present in our world. Here between chestnut trees and secular plane trees you can spot many species of birds such as eagles, buzzards and cute owls all in the midst of magical waterfalls and lush trees, a real fairy forest.

From the top of the gorge the scenery is almost surreal, the two canyons with their valleys and their magical scents. The side of the Agios Dimitrios gorge, is the perfect environment where mainly birds of prey take refuge and come to reproduce. If you are lucky you can watch the flight of the eagles that with their mighty wings scan the sky making acrobatic turns.

So let's start by saying that it's a real journey because it's not that comfortable. All right up to the village, then a dirt road begins that stretches for a couple of kilometers, wading even a small river, we would call it more 'pond, however, where there are many frogs and you will recognize it already in the distance by the croaking of the animals. A little further on until the end of the beach.
