Located in Lassi, 3 km from the beach of Platys Gialos, and 4.2 km from the karst area of Katavothres a very rare geological phenomenon that only on the island of Kefalonia. Practically it happens that the waters of the sea that lap this small stretch of coast, creep in the rocks and literally the water disappears into the subsoil. The answer was only in 1963 and it was discovered that the water follows an underground path, crossing the island in a north-west direction for 17 km and mixing with the fresh water present in the underground aquifer, it first reaches the lake Melissani , then in the Karavomilos lake before emerging again at sea.
