Xi beach is located near Lixouri, the capital of the Paliki Peninsula, a strip of land that goes into the sea in the northwest part of the beautiful Kefalonia island.

A very particular beach, formed by a long (we are talking about two kilometers) and narrow sandy beach washed by a clear and crystalline sea of an intense blue with shallow waters that slope gently and therefore very suitable for families with children and those who like to go for long swims and walk on the shore. The characteristic of Xi beach is the color of the sand which is completely red. Behind an imposing white cliff that comes into sharp contrast with the surrounding colors. The bizarre name of the coast is given by the X shape which is written in Greek Xi and here is explained the reason for this attribution.

Xi beach is very popular and well known, in fact in the high season it can be quite chaotic and full but it is of such beauty that it is worth bearing a few more people. The clayey rocks of the beach will allow you to make healthy mud for the face and body all at a cost of 0.

It is very equipped and will satisfy all needs. On one side of the bay you can find sunbeds and umbrellas to rent (the cost is around € 10per day), bar or snack bar for a refreshing drink or a quick snack, a beachfront restaurant where you can delight in fish dishes fresh and a wide choice of water sports to have fun with friends or family. A part of the beach, on the other hand, is free and here you can fully enjoy the relaxation and nature that gives you the best of yourself. Remember if you decide to spend the day in the free area to bring you what you need to protect yourself from the sun.

Is easy, just follow the road signs, nothing simpler. If you don’t have your own transport, there are local buses that leave every day from Lixouri or Argostoli.
