Alonissos

What to do and see in Alonissos

2 minutes to read

Alonissos, the last of the Sporades Archipelago in the northwestern part of Greece, the most remote and the least invaded by mass tourism, either because reaching it is a real journey (but in our opinion the beauty is also this) or because it is a island for those who want to have only nature and unspoiled landscapes around them.

Alonissos is very beautiful morphologically, a varied environment with many animal and plant species, a sea perhaps the cleanest in the northern Aegean, mainly pebble beaches and villages where time seems to have stopped, so if you think about your holiday in Greece based on nightlife and entertainment, Alonissos is not for you. Here peace and tranquility reign, no stress.

The island is however known all over the world for the first Marine Natural Park established in Greece where in particular the Mediterranean monk seal species is protected and where a rich and varied ecosystem is preserved in order to continue to live the wonders that Mother earth has given us.

Here is a list of things to do in Alonissos if you venture to this beautiful and out of the ordinary island:

Ancient Alonissos Chora

Patitiri the Capital

Marine National Park

MOM

Votsi Village

Steni Vala Village

Kalamakia Village

Alonissos Beaches
