Bonatsa Beach Kimolos

2 minutes to read

The beautiful Bonatsa Beach, we find it in the southern part of the Kimolos Island about four kilometers from the main Pshati Port.

Practically it is the continuation of Aliki beach or we can also say that Aliki is the continuation of Bonatsa as you prefer, it offers a coastline almost a kilometer long of golden sand mixed with pebbles at times, bathed by crystalline and clear blue waters from the bottom that descends slowly plan making it perfect for families with children where the little ones can have fun in safety and the adults relax under the warm rays of the Hellenic sun.

With its large dimensions, it almost always has a calm sea as its position protects it from the north wind, perfect for lovers of long swims. Behind it, tamarisk trees that make the landscape idyllic and not least, give natural shade in the hottest hours. Delicate water lily flowers are found along the beach, transforming the context almost into a small Eden.

It is partly equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, cabins to change your costume and some excellent taverns where you can find classic local Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. The Bonatsa Resturant with a wonderful sea view and the Kalamitsi Taverna which offers local recipes are very popular. For a while the beach is free so you can easily choose where it will inspire you to put your towel and spend a day at the beach.

Bonatsa beach is one of the most popular on the island of Kimolos, either for its size, either for the sheltered position or for the beauty of its sea and its depths, which consequently becomes quite busy during the high season. It would be better to go there in the morning, the time of day where you can really enjoy so much beauty and stay more peaceful. On the other hand, which beach in Greece is deserted in August.

How to get to Bonatsa Beach

Here too various solutions. The most comfortable, with your own vehicle, be it car or scooter, heading south following the road signs. Among other things, there is also a convenient parking where you can leave your vehicles. Second possibility with the public bus that from Chorio rather than from the port of Pshati reach the beach. Always check the timetables to avoid nasty surprises. Third option on foot, with a nice walk of about fifty minutes from the port to get there. Last alternative by sea maybe if you are lucky by renting a boat and making you all the south coast discovering and touching other beaches that are on the coast.

Here is also the beach of Bonatsa that cannot fail to be included in the list of things to see in Kimolos, whether it is for a whole day or just for a swim, it is still worth a visit.
