How to get to Kimolos

Here is a secret and almost hidden pearl of the Cyclades Archipelago, the beautiful Kimolos Island.

We find it to the north of the Milos island in front of the picturesque of Pollonia village separated by a strip of sea which can be crossed in a quarter of an hour of navigation. An island that is still genuine and sincere, where nature still manages to blossom without problems and then die and then be reborn more and more luxuriant and wonderful than ever.

A holiday in Kimolos is chosen if you want absolute tranquillity, simplicity and an air of ancient Greece made up of habits that do not want to change and old trades. No nightlife, no excesses, just the sound of the sea, the crowing of the roosters and an intact and uncontaminated territory.

Beautiful and small beaches with transparent waters where you can let yourself be embraced and regenerated by the sea and where you can capture as much vitamin D as possible from the warm sunrays. It has a single Chorio village which is situated where the port is. The architecture is typically Cycladic with blinding white houses, low and embellished with colorful flowers and blue windows, small and narrow streets that intertwine with each other as if to confuse you where to take a walk and forget everything.

Getting to Kimolos is a small adventure given that there are no flights but you can only travel by sea. Necessarily you have to reach Milos and here too you will see in the article dedicated to her how to do it, move to the Pollonia village where every day in the summer there is the traditional boat called "Pantofla" (in Greek it means slipper) that every two hours it goes back and forth between Milos and Kimolos, taking about fifteen minutes and on which you could also bring your own vehicle. In this regard, ask the renter if it is possible because many do not allow you to take cars or scooters outside the rental island. You can get the ticket directly in Pollonia.

If, on the other hand, you don't want to do it yourself, there are many tourist agencies that organize day trips to Kimolos, you can join in and spend a wonderful day, the only difference is that you will have to follow established routes and not go wherever you like.
