Agios Ioannis Beach Tinos

2 minutes to read

The beautiful and cosmopolitan Agios Ioannis Beach, we find it in the southeastern part of the beautiful Tinos Island, about seven kilometers from its capital Tinos Town.

A stretch of coast where peace reigns supreme, if you are a lover of nightlife and entertainment, better look for other areas of the island, here you only come to rest, relax and enjoy a still intact natural environment.

Despite its continuous growing urbanization that have transformed it into one of the most sought after places for a holiday in Tinos, the  Agios Ioannis beach and its small village still manage to keep that typical flavor of Greece in every traveler's imagination.

Surrounded by rocky cliffs dotted with fragrant Mediterranean scrub, given its position it is always protected from the winds that blow on the Greek Islands, a small negative however exists and it is when at night there are storms, they bring algae ashore but fortunately it happens rarely and in just as short time they disappear.

A long coastline of almost four kilometers of soft gold-colored sand, warm, calm, crystalline and transparent waters, a blue and turquoise sea with gently sloping seabed, perfect for families with children and for those who love long swims. It should be noted that in some places there are also pebbles so if you have delicate feet or bring rock shoes or opt to settle in the central part of the beach which unlike is soft gravel.

The Agios Ioannis beach is very well equipped with comfortable sun beds and umbrellas, while as regards the restaurant across the road in the village you will find many taverns where you can taste excellent fresh fish dishes or traditional Greek and local cuisine.

There are several activities that you can do on the beach of Agios Ioannis, the first for sure is snorkeling so bring a mask, fins and snorkel with you to discover the fauna and marine flora of the abyss, and more diving or beautiful excursions on the rocks climbing the paths that lead to spectacular views, rather than a break in the park area just ten meters away for a nice picnic (always pay attention to the environment, collect all the garbage and leave the area).

The almost maniacal cleanliness town develops between delightful alleys with picturesque houses adorned with stone fences and colorful flowers, small shops of all kinds and even luxury facilities for a wonderful and perfect holiday in Greece.

On the left side, the picturesque church painted with a blinding white lime that gives its name to the village and the beach, while in the vicinity with a walk of a quarter of an hour another pearl, the Agios Sostis Beach.

How to get to Agios Ioannis Beach
