Skopelos island is the largest of the archipelago of the Northern Sporades and has become famous thanks to the musical film "Mamma Mia".

It boasts several very suggestive beaches, surrounded by lush wooded areas bathed by a blue and transparent sea.

As always, a list and not a ranking to be marked in your travel program if you decide to spend your holidays in Greece on the Island of Skopelos.


Kastani Beach

Kastani beach, we find it in the west part of the island about twenty kilometers from the capital Skopelos Town. A shoreline with light colored sand with transparent and clear sea, embraced by trees that give shade on hot sunny days. Partly equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, a beach bar where you will find cold drinks and something to eat. Ideal for families with children as the bottom is low. The best time to visit it in the morning, as in the afternoon the arrival of the mass and the loud music make it less livable.


Limnoari Beach

Limnonari beach is found in the southern part of the island about nine kilometers from Skiathos Town. Set in a small and delightful inlet near Agnondas village, it is a white sand beach with emerald sea and surrounded by maritime pines that provide refreshment during the hours of sunshine. The backdrop is made of slabs of rocks so be careful if you have delicate feet. Always protected from the wind, it can only be reached by a path or by sea. It is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and a tavern for eating and drinking.


Panormos Beach

Panormos beach is also located in the west and about twelve kilometers from the capital. A picturesque bay with sand and gravel with a clear turquoise sea. Equipped with sun beds, umbrellas, a choice of water games. In the surrounding village, seaside taverns where you can taste Greek cuisine and fresh fish.Velanio beachVelanio beach is located about two kilometers north of the capital. Protected from the winds, it has a coast of soft golden sand with blue and transparent waters. A part is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, a part instead free and totally wild. All around hills covered with maritime pines. It is the only beach in Skopelos where naturism can be practiced.


Milia Beach

Milia beach is located about thirteen kilometers west of the capital. It is a long coastline about a kilometer of soft white sand and small pebbles with crystal clear turquoise sea with a green pine forest around it. In front of the Dassia Islet which makes the landscape even more beautiful. Equipped with sun beds and umbrellas and a bar for a drink or a quick snack.


Hovolo Beach

Hovolo beach is in the western part of the island about twenty kilometers from Skopelos Town. It is difficult to reach as you have to walk a fairly demanding path and it is made up of three beautiful beaches of fine white sand with turquoise sea all framed by a splendid pine forest. It is obviously not equipped so bring everything you need if you want to spend a few hours in this wonderful part of Skopelos.


Stafylos Beach

Stafylos beach is located south of Skopelos about four kilometers from Skiathos Town. Often and willingly super crowded it is a pebble beach mixed with sand with transparent sea. One part is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and a bar for refreshment, while a part is completely free.


Elios Beach

Elios beach has a long coastline with many sandy and pebble coves with a calm and transparent sea. We find it in the western part of the Skopelos island about twenty kilometers from the capital. Equipped with sun beds, umbrellas and in the village of the same name behind it there are mini markets and taverns where you can taste the specialties of the local cuisine.


Agios Ioannis Beach

Agios Ioannis beach in Skopelos is located in the north west towards the Glossa village. Narrow with a coasts of stones, like all the beaches of the Greek Islands, it is bathed by a very clear sea and turquoise shades. It is not equipped but hosts the famous Agios Ioannis church, cult place of the film Mamma Mia.


Glysteri Beach

In the northern part of Skopelos about four kilometers from the capital, we find Glysteri beach. Inside a small inlet, it has a coast of fine gravel and sand, bathed by crystal clear sea and emerald color. Protected from the winds, it is close to the Tripiti Cave. It is equipped with sun beds, umbrellas and a bar for a drink or a snack.


Perivolou Beach

Perivolou beach is located in the north-west of Italy twenty-seven kilometers from the capital. Surrounded by a thick vegetation of maritime pines that reach the sea, it has rocks with a great visual impact. The coast of fine gravel in the south and pebbles in the north is bathed in deep blue waters. At the top of the promontory there is a large car park and a snack bar for drinks and food. Equipped with sun beds and umbrellas.


Hodrogiorgis Beach

Hodrogiorgis beach in the northwest part of the island thirty kilometers from the capital, is located on the road leading to Perivolou. Mostly unknown and not beaten by mass tourism, it has a sandy beach with flat stones that suddenly pop up. The sea is transparent and clear. It is not equipped so bring everything you need if you want to spend the day in this little corner of paradise. Natural caves in the surrounding area to visit.


Agnondas Beach

Agnondas beach is located about eight kilometers from Skopelos Town in the south of the island. It is a beach in a bay with a pebble coast with an emerald green transparent sea, all embraced by a lush vegetation. The homonymous village behind it offers typical taverns, bars and shops. The beach is not equipped.


Glyfoneri Beach

The Glyfoneri beach to the north and only two kilometers from Skopelos town, is a pretty bay with a large beach of fine sand and boulders of rock scattered with a turquoise and transparent sea. In a secluded position surrounded by green hills it is not equipped but behind the beach a small tavern serving food and drinks.


Glossa Beach

The Glossa beach is located in the north west part twenty five kilometers from the capital. A long and narrow pebble coast with large rocks with light colors and washed by a sea that is almost always very peaceful, clear and crystalline. On the right of Glossa village full of typical taverns where you can taste traditional dishes, bars, mini markets.


Adrina Beach

Adrina beach is located in the western part of the Skopelos island, thirteen kilometers from the capital Skopelos Town. Many small pebble coves with a clear and transparent sea. Around a dense vegetation of woods. It is not equipped as it is quite difficult to reach.
