Kanapitsa Beach Skiathos

2 minutes to read

Kanapitsa beach, we find it in the southern part of the beautiful island of Skiathos about eight kilometers from its capital Skiathos Town. Just after that you will also meet Tzaneria beach and Vromolimnos beach.

In a beautiful bay on the Kalamaki peninsula, the Kanapitsa beach has a narrow beach of fine sand mixed with coarse sand, clean and crystalline waters, a blue and green sea with depths that descend slowly, perfect for families with children and who likes to swim. Given its position it can be subject to the winds that cyclically blow on the Greek Islands so always consult the weather conditions because the waves sometimes prevent you from being in the water. Its small size means that it fills up very quickly but don't worry it's not among the most famous on the island, the atmosphere here is always calm and relaxed. Be careful where you decide to stand because the southern part is in the shade quite early in the afternoon due to the trees and hills behind it. A small marina with its pier is a safe place to moor the boat if you are among the lucky ones to have it.

The coast is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas while for something to drink and eat there is a typical tavern where you can taste the delicacies of the classic Greek and local cuisine. Water sports lovers at Kanapitsa beach can indulge in various activities such as windsurfing, water skiing, jek skiing, exciting diving or even for a simple game of beach volleyball, the choice is yours on how to spend your time and challenge your friends.

Behind the village of the same name, once a simple fishing village which in recent decades has developed into a very popular destination for those who want only tranquility for their holiday in Greece without giving up the most modern services. Also from the point of view of accommodation, the whole area offers various alternatives suitable for all budgets, ranging from simple rooms for rent to apartments rather than small or medium-sized hotels.

The whole area is of a natural beauty that will leave you speechless, completely surrounded by lush pine vegetation and fragrant Mediterranean scrub. From this part of the island you can see the most beautiful sunsets so as to seem almost surreal with colors worthy of a famous painter's palette.

For walking enthusiasts, the Kanapitsa area offers numerous well-marked paths that cross the peninsular region of Kalamki where you can enter the territory to discover hidden corners.

How to get to Kanapitsa beach
