Ampelakia Beach Skiathos

Ampelakia Beach also called Ambelakia Beach and known above all by the name of Xenia Beach, we find it in the southwestern part of the beautiful Skiathos Island about fourteen kilometers from the capital Skiathos Town.

If we really want to be precise, the Ambelakia beach, is the natural continuation of the more famous Koukounaries Beach or also nicknamed Golden Beach because of its sand tending to gold where behind there is the Strofylia lagoon a protected reserve with a wonderful forest and which is home to numerous species of plants and animals.

The Xenia beach has a long coastline of fine sand, clear and crystalline waters, a turquoise and blue sea with depths that for about twenty meters from the shore are very low, forming shallows perfect for families with children where children can have fun building sand castles until they drop in safety while adults can enjoy the warm Hellenic sun rays in total relaxation.

The area is of a fantastic effect, covered and surrounded by a rich and luxuriant vegetation made of maritime pines which give natural shade during the hottest hours. The Ambelakia beach is partly equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas as well as a beach bar on the beach the Mystique much appreciated especially by young people at aperitif time and in the evening, where you can also taste the delicacies of classic Greek and local cuisine at the restaurant both in their original recipes and revisited in a modern way.

For those who do not like comfort and want to stay in close contact with nature, they can decide to move from the area served and look for their little personal corner where to put their towel and enjoy a beautiful day of sun and sea in tranquility. For the shade, no problem you can also choose here which pine to put yourself under and maybe even take a nap.

Reaching Xenia beach, call it what you prefer because they are the same thing, you will have to go southwest towards Koukounaria following the road signs.

You can or get there independently if you have a rental vehicle that is car or scooter, no matter the choice will be yours alone for how to discover the island, simply with the road signs that will lead you directly to the free parking behind the beach.

If on the other hand, you are not motorized because you don't want to drive on vacation, there is a public bus service that leaves from Skiathos Town. You will have to get off at stop 26, head towards the dirt road that arrives at Banana Beach which is on the side of Koukunaries beach, turn left to get to the top and then go down the hill via natural stairs and you are there. The path is not difficult, but it is better to have suitable shoes to be more stable since we are talking about a natural path.
