Pefki Beach Rhodes

2 minutes to read

We find Pefki Beach in the south-eastern part of the multifaceted of Rhodes Island in the small peninsula that extends over the sea about five kilometers from the picturesque Lindos and fifty-two from the capital Rhodos Town.

The scenery of the landscape is something wonderful, the area is particularly rich in lush vegetation in Greek Pefki means "pines" that cover the hill behind, extending almost to the beach for the entire bay.

The coast is a succession of splendid coasts such as Agios Pavlos beach also known as the Saint Paul Bay, and coves where you can find privacy and enjoy a day at the beach. Pefki beach is about seven hundred meters long but in width it is very small due to the conformation of the surrounding mountainous and rocky landscape. Fine golden sand mixed with gravel, clear and crystalline waters, a blue sea with turquoise shades with gently sloping sandy bottoms much loved by families with small children and for those who like to take long swims.

The stony parts that separate the various beaches are perfect for snorkelers who will not have to forget to bring fins, mask, snorkel and an underwater camera to explore and meet the native marine fauna and flora.

The area of Pefki or also called Pefkos, is very popular both for tourists who decide for a holiday in Rhodes and for locals. There are many houses where the Lindians take refuge during the summer and those who live in the lively Rhodes City are an excellent place to find tranquility and all the most comfortable services. Given the quality of the services and the wonderful territory, every year it is awarded the Blue Flag.

In fact, the Pefki beach is very developed to receive visitors, it is equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports to have fun with your family or challenge old and new friends and still just to lie idle down to be kissed by the Hellenic sun rays. and achieve a tan that your friends will envy. Behind you will find a wide choice for catering which includes typical taverns where you can taste classic Greek and local cuisine, international restaurants, cafes, bars and small supermarkets. In the evening everything changes, Pefki comes alive and even in this case there is an embarrassment of choosing where to end the day with a flourish perhaps with an exotic drink in one of the characteristic places that are late, or why not with a full stomach and sipping the last raki or ouzo as a digestive after an abundant and delicious fish-based menu.

Even from the point of view of accommodation, Pefki has nothing to envy to more famous places, here you can find from simple rooms for rent to apartments, small and medium-sized hotels still family-run with an informal atmosphere that will make your holiday in Greece full of memorable and pleasant memories.

How to get to Pefki Beach

At least once in a while, without any difficulty and without dirt roads and hell. Head south from the main road that crosses the whole island and makes the coast so you can also admire the extraordinary charm of Rhodes by simply following the road signs.

Based on where you have decided to stay, keep in mind that the longest distance if you are for example in Rhodes City is more or less an hour. Given the size of the island we always recommend renting a car to be more comfortable and take less time.

For those who do not want to drive, a public bus service every half hour from the capital will take you to Pefki passing among the most popular tourist destinations.

As always, keep an eye on the timetables to better plan your trip out of town.A destination to put among the things to do in Rhodes, for a break in a very relaxing naturalistic context and to discover the southern part that we are sure you will love.
