Lardos Beach Rhodes

2 minutes to read

Lardos beach is found in the southeastern part of the Rhodes island about sixty kilometers from the capital and seven from the picturesque Lindos village.

Awarded with the Blue Flag, it is a long coast (measuring about one kilometer and two hundred and fifty meters), of sand mixed with pebbles, bathed by a blue and crystalline sea. The seabed descends slowly and therefore suitable for families with children and lovers of long walks on the beach.

Definitely a beach with suggestive beauty, never too crowded and perfect for those seeking relaxation and tranquility.

It is divided into three parts, in the central area you will find all the large hotels overlooking the sea, with sunbeds, umbrellas, beach volleyball courts and a wide choice of water games such as banana boats, jet skis and paragliders, on the sides instead some sections are free and usually less frequented beach where you can enjoy a beautiful day in the sun (bring a hat or umbrella if you decide to stay all day). For those who love to snorkel, the seabed is very interesting to explore but be careful of the rocks (shoes are recommended). There are a couple of cloisters and some tavern restaurants where you can taste excellent dishes of classic Greek or international cuisine while contemplating the sea. A large parking lot is available for visitors where you can leave your vehicle.

The Lardos village, is located a few kilometers inland and is the classic village with a Greek flavor with its cafes, souvenir shops and characteristic taverns. In the evening it is suitable for a pleasant walk and to hear live music from local groups. If you plan to spend your holidays in Greece in Lardos between late August and September, do not miss the wine festival.

In the vicinity of Lardos, a few kilometers away is the beautiful Lindos with its magnificent beach, the Saint Paul Bay and the Acropolis not to be missed.

The area of Lardos is much loved by families, either for its excellent position to explore the whole south part of the Rhodes island, or for the long beach and the excellent services offered.

How to reach Lardos Beach

If you have your own car or scooter (the scooter always depends on how close you are to the area as it is long from Rhodes Town and the road is very busy with cars, buses and large vehicles), just follow the road signs to Lardos and then turn to Lothiarika Beach as the beach is not marked with the name of Lardos Beach.

For a relaxing day based on the sea, sun and good food, Lardos beach is definitely a stop to be included in things to do in Rhodes.
