2 minutes to read

Kolymbia beach, we find it in the eastern part of the Rhodes island not far from the Faliraki village. From Rhodes Town are about fifteen kilometers, more or less a quarter of an hour by car.

A wide coastline of about one kilometer in the crescen shape with a cliff on one side where snorkelers will find interesting marine fauna. Of soft gold colored sand mixed with a few pebbles especially near the shore, it is bathed by a blue and turquoise sea with clear, transparent and extremely warm waters that are repeatedly awarded with the Blue Flag. The predominantly sandy seabed slopes gently for the first meters making it ideal for families with small children and for lovers of long and relaxing swims. Its biodiversity and the nature that surrounds it is something unique and fantastic.

It is very equipped with sun beds and umbrellas at a cost of around € 10 per day (2022), toilets, changing rooms and water sports facilities such as paragliding and jet skis. A small cellar and a restaurant to delight your palate with typical Greek dishes and refreshing drinks. A large parking area where you can leave your vehicle and from the street level a staircase with a ramp (you can also go with prams or wheelchairs) will take you to the beach. Do not miss a day on a boat excursion (they leave from the small port in the  Kolymbia village) which will make you enjoy the view from the sea.

In the north part of Kolymbia beach, the Tsambika mountain of where there is also the beautiful beach and the Sanctuary which offers a breathtaking panoramic view especially at sunset.

The Kolymbia village founded in 1935 during the Italian occupation, originally called San Benedetto, was renamed with its current name only in 1961. To date it appears as a modern seaside resort where you can actually breathe the air of typical Greece for via the many hotels and the endless comforts offered, but still pleasant to spend the holidays with the family and if you want to rest maybe after a hard year of work.

If you are visiting Kolymbia, do not miss the several kilometer long eucalyptus avenue that leads from the main road to the sea.
