Elli Beach Rhodes

Elli beach is located in the Rhodes capital Town close to the Aquarium and the Casino.

Called Elli Beach or also Trampoline as in the middle of the sea there is a real trampoline where you can have fun making spectacular dives, it has a long coastline of small pebbles mixed with golden sand bathed by a turquoise and transparent sea that is awarded every year by the Blue Flag precisely for the clarity of the waters.

Super equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas at a cost of around € 10 which become free after 18.00 (till 2022) or, for those who do not want to be bound by anything, there is also the possibility of getting on the shore without paying anything. A wide choice of taverns directly on the sea where you can satisfy your culinary desires with excellent fresh fish and traditional Greek dishes, bars and pubs for a quick snack and an infinite number of places for an aperitif perhaps admiring the sunset.

In the summer it is always very crowded first because the hotel facilities are behind it, second because being right in the city it is a destination for cruises that stop on the Rhodes island during their tours in the Aegean Sea.

The peculiarity of the Elli beach consists in the fact that while the slope near the hotels has a very calm sea and therefore ideal for relaxing (be careful though because the seabed drops immediately deep), in the part after the tip it is particularly rough and ventilated. It is truly an atypical phenomenon because while on one hand the sea is like a flat table, just afterwards it gives white waves that ripple before reaching the shore.

The most windy part is a place much loved by sportsmen who practice kitesurfing or windsurfing and on the beach there is a kiosk where you can rent equipment to have fun circling between sky and sea. Snorkelers instead equipped with fins and mask will have the opportunity to admire the marine fauna in the southern part of the beach where there are numerous rocks preferred habitat by fish and octopus.

Elli beach framed by the historic Mandraki port is located about ten minutes walk from the Old Town full of charm and history that is worth visiting even during the day.

Nothing simpler, if you are staying in Rhodes Town just go to the Aquarium or the Casino even with a nice walk, if you come from Faliraki or from other directions with your own vehicle in the direction of Rhodes Town.

A city beach certainly a little crowded but really beautiful and ideal if, one day during your holidays in Greece you do not have too much desire to explore the island, but to lie comfortably in the sun to laze.
