Glyfa Beach Paros

2 minutes to read

The small and secret Glyfa beach, we find it in the south-eastern part of the Paros Island about five kilometers from the Dryos village a small and characteristic fishing village where there are excellent fresh fish taverns to try at least once during your holiday in Paros. Eighteen kilometers north is the sparkling capital of Paroikia.

Also in this case you have to be very careful not to confuse it with the other beach called Glyfada which is always located to the south but on the west side.

A small crescent-shaped cove, with a shoreline of sand mixed with gravel, clear and transparent waters, a turquoise blue and always calm sea, a seabed that descends so much that it is much loved by families with children and  local by the few visitors who they manage to find it.

Glyfa beach is a natural oasis, here everything is still in its original and uncontaminated state and we hope it will remain so for a long time. Obviously there is no trace of civilization there are no sunbeds and umbrellas only free spaces to find comfort in the hottest hours under the row of wild tamarisk trees that surround the beach. As for catering, during the summer a classic and small Kantina opens which however offers genuine and simple dishes of traditional Greek and local cuisine but with an authentic flavor of the classic Greek Islands.

Given its location, Glyfa beach is always sheltered from the winds that usually blow on the Cyclades Islands and which on some days are really unbearable, making it an ideal refuge to enjoy a quiet day at the beach.

Very close to Glyfa beach, another small pearl is Tripiti beach where you can hide from the noisy crowd, a small completely wild coast of sand and pebbles with providential tamarisk trees where you can find a break when the sun beats down completely free and unorganized. Some rocks are the perfect spot to do some snorkeling so bring fins, snorkel and mask with you.

How to get to Glyfa Beach

Glyfa beach is a hidden treasure chest in Paros Island. Reaching it is not difficult apart from the uncomfortable dirt road, the problem is just finding the way. Let's try to give you the directions but then you will have to be good at reading the signs. So head south east along the only road parallel to the coast. At a certain point you will find a sign indicating Gkyfa beach, go down the paved road until you reach a parking lot and you will have arrived at your destination.

Logically, the only option you have to reach it is with your own vehicle, whether it's a car or a scooter, it doesn't matter, the only warning we can suggest is to drive slowly because the road is bumpy and as you well know by now with rentals if something happens in routes not marked on the map or off the main roads, the damage and recovery will be totally at your expense.

Here is a further stop to plan in the things to see in Paros, for a day of total relaxation immersed in a remote and intact nature with a fairytale sea where you can forget everything and everyone.
