Faragas Beach Paros

2 minutes to read

Faragas beach, we find it in the southwestern part of Paros about fifteen kilometers from the capital Parikia and just two kilometers from the picturesque Aliki village, once a fishing village that is undergoing a strong tourist development where you can find excellent fresh fish and the traditional “gouna”, sun-dried mackerel.

The coast is located in an inlet that, given its position, shelters the beach from the winds that usually blow on the Greek Islands, in particular on the Cycladic Islands archipelago, and has a large beach of soft white sand, clear waters, very transparent to look like a natural swimming pool, a turquoise sea with a bottom that slowly descends perfect for families with small children where they can have fun until they drop in safety while adults enjoy the warm rays of the sun perhaps with a colorful cocktail in hand under the umbrella.

The landscape that remembers it is almost idyllic, with a luxuriant vegetation behind it made of maritime pines and rolling hills covered with Mediterranean scrub. Faragas beach is partly equipped with comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas at a price that is around € 15 per day, a beach bar right in the middle also guarantees a service directly to your deckchairs with quick and light dishes to eat and fresh drinks or if you want a full lunch you can sit at the restaurant that offers classic Greek and local cuisine based on fresh fish and local products.

For those who love DIY, a section is completely free as soon as you pass the two small promontories and there you can decide where to put your towel and enjoy a wonderful day at the beach. In addition to the long shore, about ten meters to the west, you can also find two small solitary and wild coves where you can stop for a nice section of snorkeling as there are several strange-shaped rocks where you can have fun in search of the lively fish flora and fauna.

This part of the beach is also very popular with spearfishing fans. Faragas beach has a wonderful view of the Aegean Sea that is hard to forget, a real hidden paradise for those who love simplicity.

How to reach Faragas beach

Being quite remote, the public transport service unfortunately does not reach this far, so the only solution is to have your own vehicle for hire. It does not matter whether it is a car or a scooter (perhaps the moped is the best solution since Paros is not huge and with a two-wheeler it is much easier to find parking and move freely), the direction to follow is always towards the side south of Paros on the western side to the main road paying attention to road signs and directions. Once you arrive you can leave your vehicle near the beach

A stop to be marked among the things to do in Paros, for a moment of fun for young and old in a natural context that is still perfect despite the hand of man and which we hope will remain so for a long time and for this we will also need all your help.
