Paros

Paros Ports

2 minutes to read

Although it is considered a small island, Paros has three ports.

The largest is that of Parikia considered the main one and which is located in the homonymous village as well as the capital. A beautiful and lively town that offers everything and more where thousands of visitors flock every summer, preferring it both as a base for a walk or a day at the beach. Nothing is missing in Parikia, you will find many typical taverns where you can taste the delicacies of the classic Greek or local cuisine, more refined or international restaurants, shops where you can find the perfect souvenir for your family at home, cafes where you can hang out until dawn or simply finish a wonderful day.

The connections from Piraeus or from the second port of Rafina of the Attic Peninsula, are available throughout the year. This is also due to the perfect position of the port of Parikia which is protected by the bay that hosts it even with the most extreme weather conditions when the strong wind of the Meltemi constant and cyclical guest of the Greek Islands whips overbearingly. The marina of Parikia is able to offer facilities for all types of vessels from small motorboats to larger vessels up to cruise giants. From here you can also get to the beautiful Antiparos in the summer months.

Naoussa is the second landing point by sea. With its sophisticated town where the atmosphere is much more elegant than Parikia, it is also a very popular destination for a holiday in Paros. It is built amphitheatrically around its ancient port which dates back to the Byzantine era, while the Venetian domination in Naoussa is perceptible everywhere thanks to its recognizable architecture. It boasts the largest fishing fleet of all the Cyclades and in fact you will notice many moored fishing boats that daily supply excellent fresh fish to be enjoyed in the numerous taverns or restaurants on the port born in place of the old warehouses once used as storage by the wolves of sea. During the summer months from here depart the routes to the Tinos island, the Mykonos island and the sacred Delos island as well as some excursions to the Naxos island. Its position gives shelter during windy days to many sailboats that choose it as a mooring point waiting for Eolo to calm down a bit.

Piso Livadi. In the homonymous village located southeast less than twenty kilometers from Parikia, we find the third port of Paros. From here we set sail for excursions to Naxos, Myknos, Antiparos, Delos and Koufonisia as well as to the island of Amorgos or Santorini. People also come here to eat as its taverns are among the most authentic and refined by the sea on the whole island. A stop can also be considered for its beach surrounded by fragrant pines and eucalyptus trees with a coast of soft golden sand bathed by crystalline and transparent waters where you can enjoy a few hours of relaxation or, at a distance of just three hundred meters, you can reach one of the beaches considered among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, the Golden Beach. Also, don't miss a visit to the enchanting Marpissa village just two kilometers from Piso Livadi, a village suspended in time where silence, especially in the evening, is almost frightening.

Pounta. The fourth port of Paros is found in the southwest part of the island. Ferries leave from here all year round to Antiparos island. The ride is every half hour and lasts a maximum of ten minutes and you can also embark your vehicle. Pounta village is well known among surfers for an important kite center on its large beach about five hundred meters from the port where the wind is almost always present giving perfect conditions for practicing these sports.
