Agiassos Beach Naxos

The Agiassos beach or also called Aiyassos, we find it in the south west area of Naxos about twenty kilometers from the capital Chora.

The last beach on the eastern side of the island is a beautiful bay surrounded by gentle green hills that complete the postcard view with the blue sea. About seven hundred and fifty meters long of soft gold colored sand and washed by extremely clear and transparent waters, it is sometimes a bit windy but on the other hand the whole Naxos island is exposed to Meltemi., But still not so annoying not being able to stay on the beach in fact sometimes it is a real blessing when it is so hot. The sandy bottom drops slowly allowing children to play safely while mom and dad dedicate themselves to sunbathing.

Obviously it is not equipped, no sunbeds and umbrellas but only large free spaces where you can spread your towel and enjoy the sound of the sea. We recommend that you bring everything you need especially a parasol and lots of protective cream. For snorkelling or fishing lovers there are small coves and caves on the beach side where you can admire the marine fauna and perhaps take home a fish for dinner. Bird watchers, on the other hand, will find many species to be immortalized in a photo shoot in an area always at the end of the coast.

As for food and drinks, a picturesque tavern above the beach with an enchanting sea view, offers fresh drinks and classic cuisine based on fresh and local products. If you always want to book well in advance, you will find apartments to stay and enjoy a relaxing holiday away from the confusion and noise.

Nearby you can also find Pyrgaki beach and Alyko beach which could be an excellent itinerary to be included in things to see in Naxos together with Agiassos beach thus optimizing the times.

Your own vehicle is always the ideal solution. You have to follow the road that is paved up to Pyrgaki and Alyko and then travel for about three and a half kilometers on a dirt road which is easily passable and here you are at your destination. If instead you are not autonomous, there is a shuttle bus service but it is available only for the month of August.
