Ornos Beach Mykonos

Ornos beach, we find it south west in the beautiful Mykonos island about three kilometers from the capital Mykonos Town in the homonymous village.

The picturesque bay nestled in a narrow strip of land is about three hundred fifty meters long and twenty meters wide. A coast of fine and soft very clear sand washed by a clear, crystalline sea and intense turquoise. The sandy bottom also descends gently, thus allowing the little ones to have fun safely.

The homonymous village behind in recent years has had a strong expansion enriching itself with typical taverns where you can eat classic Greek dishes, ethnic restaurants, bars, shops and many accommodation facilities such as hotels of all categories from the cheapest to the luxury ones and guest houses.

The beach is very popular and loved by families with children for the fact that the shore slopes down slowly and because it is very well equipped. Several beaches are present that offer sunbeds and umbrellas (prices vary from beach to beach and let's say that it starts from € 20 and up), beach bars and restaurants with the service directly under the umbrella (what more can you ask for?). There are also water sports equipment such as windsurfing or water skiing.

Being very popular especially in the high season we say that privacy is not really the fundamental element, perhaps a little more tranquility can be found in the free stretch where you can put your towel freely but also being truly one here limited space we doubt the security of remaining silent and in peace. We recommend if you decide not to take advantage of one of the beaches but to put yourself in the free part to bring you everything you need to spend the day.

For snorkelers, Ornos beach can be a real "playground", here in fact it is very easy to meet the species of fish called flounder a fish variety that loves to hide under the sand.

For those who love to explore the area, with a short walk through the Ornos village you get to the Korfos beach much loved by kitesurfing lovers as it is often beaten by the wind unlike the coast where Ornos beach is located, which for its location is sheltered from the winds.

To the east of Ornos beach there is a small concrete pier where local fishing boats and the luckiest ones who have a dinghy can dock to enjoy a day on the beach. It will not be difficult at all to admire luxurious yachts or large luxury sailing ships anchored in the middle of the bay.

If you have your own vehicle that is a car or a moped just go south west and follow the road signs. If, on the other hand, you have not opted to rent a vehicle, buses depart from Mykonos Town every day at various times (see the table at the bus station) to take you to the village.
