Voudia Beach Milos

2 minutes to read

The almost unknown Voudia Beach, we find it in the north east part of the beautiful and strange Milos Island very close to the picturesque Pollonia village.

We used the term "almost unknown" for the simple reason that few people venture beyond the Pollonia village, missing in our opinion a very beautiful and wild part of Milos.

The Voudia beach wedged in a bay, has a large coastline covered with clear stones of various sizes mixed with light sand, clean and limpid waters, a sea that passes from bright turquoise to bright blue with a bottom that descends quickly enough. therefore suitable for families with children and for those who are not an expert swimmer considering the strong sea currents.

Behind it, high cliffs of reddish and pink volcanic rock that combined with the colors of the surrounding landscape, the sea and the beach, give a special atmosphere that only here you can breathe. The only negative note is the large mining factory that ruins the idyllic scenery also giving an unbearable smell of sulfur that makes it almost impossible to stay for a long time and for this alone it is a great pity given the beauty of the coast.

In addition to the unspoiled and spectacular nature, the Voudia beach offers beautiful caves to be explored but it is sometimes necessary to climb and swim at high tide so if you are not an expert it is best to avoid.

Obviously it is not equipped at all, no umbrellas, sunbeds or bars where to find food and drinks, here you come only and exclusively to have a moment of relaxation and privacy given the low tourist turnout.

Its magnificence, however, can only be understood well by admiring it from above where the view extends beyond the sea. The Voudia beach is also very popular with fishermen who can devote themselves to this patient pastime without any disturbance.

If you want to continue in a north-west direction, you will meet other magnificent beaches of the Milos Island and precisely in consequence the Papafragas beach, the Alogomandra beach and finally the mythical Sarankiniko beach also called Sarakiniko beach. Let's say it can be an interesting itinerary for a day to discover Milos!

How to reach Voudia Beach

The way to get to Voudia beach is undoubtedly with a rental vehicle as well as the only one. Head north following the main road towards the Pollonia village. As soon as you pass the village, follow towards the quarry where you will find a small area where you can park your car or scooter. From here, take the fairly stony path on the right that will lead you directly to the shore.

A beach not for everyone, off the beaten path, unique for nature lovers and who want to stay away from civilization and noise, to allow themselves a moment of absolute tranquility without giving up a spectacular sea and a territory that offers unique and for these reasons it deserves to be included in the list of things to see in Milos even just for a souvenir photo.
