Agios Sostis Beach Milos

2 minutes to read

The Agios Sostis Beach, we find it in the southern part of the Milos Island just where it narrows in the wonderful Provatas Bay. Adamas is less than ten kilometers north.

From its small size, given its favorable position and the surrounding cliffs, it is protected from the winds that usually in the Cyclades Islands make themselves felt overwhelmingly every day, therefore, ideal for a relaxing day at the beach. It has a beach of soft white sand surrounded by rocks, transparent and clean waters, a sea that goes from blue to turquoise with a slowly descending seabed where families with children can relax and children can play safely. For lovers of long swims, the Agios Sostis beach is an excellent alternative to many other more 'known and perhaps even more' crowded coasts. Snorkeling fans will also have the opportunity to spend pleasant hours exploring and discovering marine fauna and flora. A comfortable jetty let's face it even a little rustic to facilitate entry into the water where there are boulders.

Agios Sostis beach is also considered the continuation of Provatas beach but in fact it is completely independent with its own specific identity. Its name owes it to the small church dedicated to the saint which is located just above the beach reachable by the path that leads to the sea.The coast is wild and not equipped at all, sunbeds and umbrellas here not even the shade everything is in its natural state so 'if you decide to spend time there, remember to bring you a drink, something to eat and something to shelter from the sun since it is not not even a tree for a respite during the hottest hours. If you do not feel like a sandwich or something quick, you can walk to the tavern overlooking the promontory where you can enjoy excellent dishes based on fresh fish or local recipes and even classic Greek cuisine, all with a view of the bay and the sea that you will hardly forget.

Curiosity

From the Agios Sostis beach, especially during the winter period on particularly clear days, you can see the Crete Island which is actually about one hundred and fifty kilometers away.Continuing beyond the Agios Sostis beach you arrive at another pearl of the Milos Island the Gerontas beach but that's another story.

How to reach Agios Sostis Beach

It is essential to have your own vehicle which can be a car rather than a scooter. There is no public transport that goes up to here as the road is narrow and for the most part unpaved therefore very difficult for a bus to travel, so you must necessarily be independent.

As a reference point, keep Provatas Bay going west on the southern coast of Milos and through a rugged landscape of the coastal road that becomes unpaved at some point precisely after Kipos, you will arrive in this little corner of paradise.

Certainly a bit challenging to reach but believe us it is less difficult than it seems, it is certainly the right reward where you can enjoy a unique landscape and sea and spend a wonderful day in complete relaxation, perhaps with very few people.

Don't forget to include it among the things to see in Milos!
