Agia Kyriaki Beach Milos

2 minutes to read

The small Milos Island, known for its mythical statue dedicated to Aphrodite the Goddess of love also called Venus, despite its small size, offers its visitors many beautiful beaches where they can be lulled by the breeze and spend unforgettable hours.

One of these is Agia Kyriaki beach which literally translated means Holy Sunday. We find it in the southern part near the Paleochori beach, another pearl with golden sand and small hot springs where you can indulge in a real pampering at no cost. At nine kilometers the main port of Adamas and about twelve the picturesque Plaka villlage perched on a hill of volcanic origin where you can enjoy breathtaking views and sunsets.

The Agia Kyriaki beach has a large beach of soft golden sand that, approaching the shore, turns into small white pebbles that look like bonbons, accentuating the brightness of the clear, transparent and intense turquoise waters.

It is partly equipped, the central area from June to September offers sunbeds and umbrellas while for eating or for something fresh, there are two typical taverns where you can sit, taste local specialties and Greek cuisine while admiring the beautiful landscape. One section, on the other hand, is completely free with some miraculous tamarisk trees to be able to shelter from the hot rays of the sun and here you can put your towel and enjoy so much benevolence.

It is very well known and popular during the summer period especially by families with children as the easy access to the water is a fun diversion for the little ones who can play safely while the degrees enjoy the relaxation.

The east part of Agia Kyriaki beach is almost all of pebbles as clear as snow and crystal clear sea so that it is the favorite area for snorkelers who can explore the seabed and its fish fauna and flora. Don't forget snorkel, fins, mask and a camera to immortalize sublime moments. It should be emphasized that the seabed has large slabs of rocks and shells that can be sharp, it would be better to put on a rock shoe so as to avoid getting hurt and ruining the holiday.

Always for the more sporty, thanks to the wind that occasionally lashes the coast, they will be able to enjoy activities such as surfing, windruf or kitesurfing as there is a small school even for those who approach these disciplines for the first time, while for more fearless it is possible to climb the mountain through a fairly demanding track but once you get to the top they will be able to enjoy a 360 degree view of the beach.

The west part of Agia Kyriaki beach instead offers small bays that are usually occupied by lovers of naturism. You can also find natural caves shaped by atmospheric events to be explored.

The rocky landscape that surrounds it looks like a painting painted by Mother Nature, wild, uncontaminated and gives moments of pure ecstasy.

On the promenade you will find several restaurants, cafes where you can take a break with a good coffee and typical taverns.

How to reach Agia Kyriaki Beach

You have to get to the Zefiria village then head south east to the Paliochori village where you will have to turn right when you see a small church. The road then begins to descend between a valley and passes at times from the dirt road until it is comfortably asphalted. At the end you will find a modest-sized car park where you can leave your vehicle.

The only way to reach Agia Kyriaki beach is with a car or a moped, there are no public bus rides.

A beautiful beach to be included among the things to see in Milos, perhaps combining it with the Paleochori beach for a beautiful day exploring this wonderful island.
