Certainly the most picturesque village on the island of Milos, with its houses on the water, where each door has its own precise color and the reason is simply explained, it was used by fishermen to more easily recognize their home when returning. from fishing and all well lined up with wooden slides necessary to let the boats go down into the sea. Behind, instead, on the slopes of the hill, the village of Plaka with its houses wedged between labyrinthine alleys where you can admire a crazy panorama.

A little history of Klima

Dating dates back to 1100 BC and was conceived after the destruction of the settlement of Fylakopi. Its strategic position allowed Klima to flourish between the seventh and fifth centuries BC hosting, among other things, the port of Milos. To date many things have changed, the main port is now in Adamas but it remains one of the main points of interest on the island and the Syrmata remain a very strong and identifying mark of the village.

There is nothing historical to visit in Klima, but only to enjoy the natural spectacle linked to the territory, and perhaps indulge in a romantic dinner with the background of a sunset and with your feet almost in the water. In this regard, we recommend the Astakas tavern where sometimes it is also possible to go directly to the kitchen to choose between the fresh fish of the day for a memorable meal.

Near Klima instead you can visit the Ancient Theater of Milos from the Roman era, where the famous statue of Aphrodite was discovered, the Paleochristian Catacombs and finally take a nice walk to the Plaka up to the Kastro and from there enjoy a view to 360 degrees on the entire island.

How to get to Klima

There are four options to reach Klima, the simplest one with your own vehicle, keeping Adamas as a reference point, head north-west following the signs, the second with a simple taxi, the third with the bus that stops to Trypiti and from there continue on foot for about twenty minutes by a dirt road but easy, or if you are a fan of walks always from Adamas it takes about fifty minutes.

A visit must be done by force, perhaps combining other interesting places to see so insert it in the things to do in Milos you will not regret it!
