Sivota the small fishing village of Lefkada
An almost hidden and therefore very fascinating attraction is the small Sivota village. We are located in the southern part of the island of Lefkada, thirty kilometers from the capital. The village also gives its name to the bay it overlooks. A narrow inlet that allows the sea to wedge itself inside, squeezed between two strips of land and slightly curved. A conformation that manages to give the impression, in some points, that you are in front of a closed basin of water.
Instead, it is almost a natural port, and in fact it allowed the development of a thriving fishing activity, still today the main vocation of Sivota. But, in recent times, it's not just the comings and goings of fishing boats that enliven its coasts.

But Sivota's life doesn't simply stop during the hours of sunshine. Once night falls and it's time to have dinner, it is said that here you can find the best fish on the whole island. And in fact, the fishing village is mainly reached for this reason. You can choose one of the restaurants or taverns located in the village and enjoy a delicious meal of local cuisine. Admiring the placidity of the bay, which during the night reflects the faint lights of the town, giving a show with a romantic flavour.
Sivota bay is a place still suspended between its past and its fishermen's cottages, craft shops and restaurants, and some holiday villas that open up to the future. Definitely a very pleasant unscheduled experience, ideal for those who want to enjoy a moment of quiet and feel strongly in contact with unspoiled nature of rare beauty.
