Egremmi Beach Lefkada

2 minutes to read

Egremmi beach is located in the south west part in a remote area where there are rare inhabited centers, and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and in Greece. A true earthly paradise and a symbol of the beauty of the Lefkada island.

Modeled over time by the wind and the sea, it is a long bay with high white cliffs behind it, the coast formed by fine sand mixed with white pebbles and washed by a sea of infinite shades of blue and blue that make the landscape still natural and unspoiled extraordinary.

Before the 2015 earthquake which unfortunately destroyed a good part of the beach, a famous staircase of 347 steps called, not by chance, "Stariway to heaven" led from above the cliff.

Although exposed on the west side in theory the less windy, sometimes it can happen that you get here too making the sea a little rough and dangerous if you are not good swimmers, when instead it is calm flat, it is ideal for a nice swim.

The beach today is not equipped at all (once it had sunbeds, umbrellas and a small kiosk but the earthquake swept everything away) so if you decide to visit it and stay a few hours bring everything you need from water to food to something to shelter from the sun.

How to reach Egremmi Beach

For now there is only one possibility and it is by sea with the many excursions that leave from the port of Agios Nikitas and Vasiliki where you will only be spoiled for choice of the type of boat.

Even this gift of Nature is to be put on the absolute list of things to see in Lefkada during your holidays in Greece, it would be a shame to leave this destination out and we are sure that once you see it you will thank us for listening to us.
