Helona Beach Kos

The beautiful and beloved by us now I believe you have understood Kos island never ceases to amaze and surprise us.

Today we want to talk about a beach among our favorites that we already knew but that for a long time we could no longer go there due to lack of time, the Helona beach.

Helona beach is located in the eastern part of the island of Kos in the lively Kardamena village according to size after the capital Kos Town where, you can find everything you need and which has a wonderful "gut" full of souvenir shops and places to eat on the fly a fantastic pita gyros.

In Greek, Helona means "turtle" and it is assumed that once the cute animals came to nest precisely on this wonderful coast of soft golden sand bathed by a transparent and crystal clear sea.

Behind the beach, gentle dunes with Mediterranean vegetation frame the landscape making it wild and extremely relaxing. The seabed also of sand for several meters from the shore is very low making it ideal for families with children who can have fun in total safety.

Helona beach is about a kilometer long and in the center it is equipped with sun beds and umbrellas which, however, are owned by the magnificent resort just behind it. On the right and on the left it is completely free so you can spread your towel and enjoy a wonderful sunny day. We advise you to bring you an umbrella or a headdress because when there is no sea breeze, the sun really warms up and the few tamarisk trees that I can give a little cool are always busy, and everything you need from something to drink, to eat and lots of sunscreen.

Certainly a beach where you can relax and fully enjoy the sea, believe us you would never want to get out of the water, it's too good to soak!

Very simple, but you need to have your own vehicle that is a car or a scooter. Arriving at the Kardamena village and at a certain point before entering the town you have to turn right and immediately left, at the bridge (on your left there is a supermarket) turn right. Get to the Atlantica resort, then continue until the road ends and you will have reached the beach.

As always being able to explain with words this gift of Mother Nature is difficult, you must necessarily mark it in things to see in Kos and go there, surely you will not be disappointed.

Our advice is to stop to visit Kardamena and take a walk through its narrow streets and why not wait for the sunset, enjoy an aperitif and stop for dinner in one of the wonderful restaurants facing the sea.
