Paradise Beach Kos

2 minutes to read

Here we are at the best known and most popular beach of Kos during the summer, Paradise Beach. We find it in the beautiful and wide Kefalos bay, the southernmost part of the island where a succession of splendid coasts will give you a headache only for which one to choose and spend a nice day at sea.

Once upon a time Paradise Beach was almost unknown to tourists and was always uncrowded, therefore perfect for lovers of total relaxation and unspoiled nature. But as always the jewels are discovered sooner or later and today it is perhaps the most popular in Kos. During the high season, many people love to spend their time here with the consequence and the awareness of not having only the sound of the sea.

A long coast of very fine gold sand, a clear and transparent sea of an intense blue, seabed that gradually slopes ideal for the little ones who can have fun until exhaustion in safety and many water activities in which to try and challenge old and new friends. Everyone can have fun driving jet skis, or paragliding, flyfish, banana boats, dive from the floating platform and even for the little ones inflatable games directly in the water. It is one of the most equipped with many sunbeds and umbrellas at a cost of about € 8 per day, a very good restaurant where you can taste the specialties based on fresh fish and all the delicacies of classic Greek and international cuisine with an additional refreshment point for quick snacks like the inevitable pita gyros.

Enclosed in the Kefalos bay, Paradise Beach is surrounded by many other beautiful beaches such as Magic Beach, Camel Beach, Exotic Beach just to name a few, in reality the whole beach is a continuum of beaches one after the other, each with the its beauties and its particularities. Surely Paradise Beach is not the best for those who want silence and tranquility, here it is quite the opposite.

Very close to Paradise Beach, we find a portion that is called Bubble Beach. Its curious name derives from the fact that being Kos volcanic, in the seabed but very far down there are channels that lead to the surface small sulphurous bubbles creating this game in the water and making you seem to be in a natural hot tub. The seabed of Bubble Beach is made of very fine sand and it will be a real blast to splash around in the sparkling waters!

Being in the southernmost part of the island, the heat is felt a little more than on the northern beaches, so 'if you have children especially, bring a sunscreen with a very high protection and rent a' umbrella to shelter you in the hottest hours.

At the southern end of Paradise Beach, there is a rocky promontory that magically sprouts from the sea and is perfect for snorkelers and scuba divers due to the lively marine fauna and flora. To say a very important thing, the water as in the whole bay of Kefalos is more 'chilly in comparison to other coasts, but it is right for the first few seconds then you get used to it immediately and it will be difficult to want to get out.

How to get to Paradise Beach

Simple, heading south, follow the signs, the road which is unique among other things, and turn at the signpost. You will find a parking lot and just below the beach.

Personally it is not one of my favorites, certainly at a naturalistic level and for the sea it has nothing to envy to the others, it only depends on what kind of day you want, here the quiet afternoon nap is almost impossible to do, the decision is yours.
