How to get to Kos

2 minutes to read

And here we are in our beloved island, Kos! We may be biased but believe us if for your holiday in Greece you decide to pass by here and experience it with the eyes of those who know it a little, you will be surprised by how magical and beautiful it is.

Perhaps its origins may be volcanoes and according to some scholars the energies released by the earth that bind so much to this place, the fact is that we arrived there for the first time and we could no longer leave it.

All in all, Kos is not very big, but despite everything we can still say that we don't know it well, every time it gives us a new place, an extra curiosity and different emotions even if based on extremely simple things like a fabulous sunset or the meeting a cute stray cat.

An island where everything is, modern but at the same time with ancient traditions still deeply felt, a sea that changes from one side to the other, fun, pure relaxation, privacy or unlike total casino in short, perfect for any age and for every need.

A coast that offers 120 kilometers of coastline made up of sinuous and long sandy beaches or sand mixed with stones all with a single denominator, the great and majestic Aegean with its unmistakable blue.

A respectable mountain area where trekking lovers can indulge in wonderful walks with breath-taking panoramas, villages nestled in the mountains where you can breathe the classic Greek atmosphere, true and sincere and then many many beaches so that you can even be in a few during the summer season if you know which one to choose.

Reaching Kos is very simple and for a holiday in Kos 2023 even more since Ryanair has returned with arrivals from many Italian cities and from all over Europe. But it is also convenient to get there by sea, so here are the solutions:

Flight: during the summer period and for 2023 there are various routes from different Italian and European airports. The flight lasts about a couple of hours and a half and that's it!

If you wish during the low season or if it is more convenient on an economic level, you can also opt for the arrival in Athens and then take a domestic flight.

Ship: there are many islands as well as obviously from Piraeus which are connected to Kos. Know that from Kos it is also possible to reach Turkey (actually they are about 5 nautical miles from each other) to Bodrum in Datca. Ferries depart from the port of Kos every day and take you to Asia Minor in about forty-five minutes, crazy if you think about it!

From Piraeus instead it takes about 13 hours and the route is managed by Blue Star Ferries

Also from Rhodes and Santorini it is always the Blue Star Ferris with usually night runs and different routes that can also take you to Syros, Amorgos, Astypalea, Karpathos, Kastellorizo and Samos.

With the Dodekanisos catamaran instead you can always reach from Kos almost every day the islands of Patmos, Lipsi, Leros, Kalymnos, Samos, Ikaria, Fourni, Agathonissi, Nisyros, Tilos, Chalki, Simy and of course Rhodes.

In short, you can also decide to plan your holiday in Kos by combining other islands and create a wonderful traveling itinerary.
