Michaliou Kipos Beach Karpathos

The wonderful Michaliou Kipos Beach, we find it in the south-eastern part of the Karpathos Island near another very sought-after beach, the Diakoftis beach with its bursting vegetation and the white coast bathed by a sea so beautiful that it makes you seem to be in the Caribbean and perfect for families with children due to its slowly descending seabed.

But let's go back to the protagonist of this article, the Michaliou Kipos beach. About sixteen kilometers from the capital Pigadia, wedged in a small lagoon between tuff cliffs with shell fossils and consequently sheltered from the winds that usually beat on the island of Karpathos, it has a shoreline of bright gold-colored fine sand, clear waters and transparent, an intense and brilliant blue sea with turquoise tips and a gently sloping seabed suitable for children who can have fun in safety while adults enjoy the sun. We point out that just after the shore there are some rocky cliffs so be careful when entering the water and in case wear rock shoes.

The beach, despite being a real rare pearl and let's face it also a bit challenging compared to the others to reach, offers some comforts, you will find some sun beds and umbrellas at a cost more or less than € 6 per day and a small cellar (as in the Greeks like to call it) where to find something to eat with a typically Greek flavor and fresh to drink. You can sit in total relaxation and taste the local delicacies while admiring the majestic Aegean in front of you.

Do-it-yourself lovers, on the other hand, will be able to spread out their own towel where they will feel better at ease and if there is room to take advantage of the natural shade of the rocks. Although Greece is very open to certain topics, always remember that nudism is not frowned upon so you have the sensitivity to undress only if there is only you or someone who has the same tastes as you.

Head south west keeping the town of Pigadia as a reference point, go down towards the opposite side following the road. After about nine kilometers, turn right and continue straight until you find the signs for Michaliou Kipos. Before reaching the beach, you will encounter a small canyon which eventually opens up to this little gem of Karpathos.

An unusual destination, which is not yet known and therefore perfect for a wonderful day at the beach in tranquility and above all sheltered from the winds, which is very rare on the island and only for this reason to be included among the beaches to see in Karpathos.
